Carry on...

The new task looks fun 😄

I don’t understand the lack of Saturday show.

Love Island has no Saturday show because the contestants get a day off from filming and can leave the villa etc. This obviously is not the case with BB so why follow the same formula?

BB never has had a show on Saturday and I think it’s for the following reasons.
firstly, Saturday night historically was a big night for telly and by not having a Saturday show it didn’t have to compete with other shows. Plus it frees up the prime time post watershed slot.
More importantly, BB currently has the following schedule:
Friday (no major filming to give the housemates a chance to rest/mentally prepare for the live Eviction, shows us the highlight of the Thursday along with that weeks eviction, live for the rest of the night)
Saturday (Filming Sundays show, no show, but are live for most of the night (9:00-2:00)
Sunday (filming Monday show, nightly highlights from Saturday aired, live at night).
Monday (filming Tuesday show, nightly highlights from Sunday aired, live at night)
Tuesday (filming Wednesday show, nightly highlights from Monday aired, live at night)
Wednesday (filming Thursday show, nightly highlights from Tuesday aired, live at night)
Thursday (filming the highlights to be shown at live eviction the next day, Wednesday highlights aired, live at night).
Repeat!
Therefore, the lack of Show on Saturday is because no major filming takes place on Friday so therefore needs a chronological pause in order to catch up.

I've been watching since BB1 and there's never been a Saturday show.

I don't get your reason about "filming", they're recorded 24/7. Can you please explain further?

Boomboom22 · 30/10/2023 16:37

Filming tasks / mini tasks / big brother gathering them for talks on the sofa etc. And editing of this plus sifting the 24hr footage for highlights to edit in to the show I'd assume.

JesusHRooseveltChristAgain · 30/10/2023 17:01

Thanks @Boomboom22, that makes sense.

Needanewname44 · 30/10/2023 17:37

Thanks @Readytoplay - are you working on BB production?! Love the detail!!

SweetBirdsong · 30/10/2023 18:05

Urgh, I really dislike Olivia now, ... I was indifferent to her, but can't stand her now. And Paul gives me the creeps and comes across and quite aggressive, and someone you wouldn't want to cross. I think he could get very angry if pushed. And Olivia is annoying and childish.

Paul and Olivia were behaving like 10 year olds last night. I could not have tolerated them behaving like that if I had been in the house. I'd have left the bedroom, and slept in the bathroom or lounge. That is one of the things that would make me struggle if I was in Big Brother... The lack of sleep.

Does anybody know why they don't all piss-arse around in the lounge - or outside? Why in the bedroom? Confused Yes, 10pm isn't super late for bedtime, but some people may want to go then, and it's rude and unfair to act like primary school age children, and 'pillow fight' and scream and shout when others are trying to sleep in the same room!

I was sorry to see Hallie go, and wish it had been Dylan. Yeah he had a right to be annoyed with Paul and Olivia, but he's as miserable as sin really.

Sheisready · 30/10/2023 18:48

Each to their own. I actually find it fascinating finding out from here (and watching BB) how people can have such different opinions on what is basic respect. And what behaviours should be expected of grown adults. In my opinion much of it comes down to the fact that some people are much more entitled, and others are more thoughtful and considerate

I agree with this. I enjoy the commentary around the episodes as much as the programmes themselves.

Can't believe they have axed live feed tonight.
Also worried they will axe it all together next year!
It's been very crap some nights with too much birdsong, but last night was pretty much OK and covered a lot.
Without it the highlights it's just love island.
You see things much clearer with live feed.

Aquarius1234 · 30/10/2023 19:18

I've watched big brother for years and there were Saturday shows. Not every series but there was definitely quite a few.
We'd often watch a relaxing task in the garden before they started getting ready for the eviction.

Aquarius1234 · 30/10/2023 19:20

Also fall out from the eviction going into more detail etc. Sunbathing in the garden and lots of stress during the day sometimes depending on who was up.

Ladybrrrd · 30/10/2023 19:29

I wouldn't bother without the live feed. It's a completely different show. Bring back the 24hr!

Absolutely, I've not been impressed with this series, but without live feed, I probably would have lost interest completely.
Highlights are too edited to let you get to know anyone.
I like live feed as its like being a fly on the wall.
I watched survivor for 10 minutes last night and it was awful..every reality show is so staged these days.

Needanewname44 · 30/10/2023 19:57

Gosh I can barely keep my eyes open for highlights show, never mind live feed, maybe one night! Those clips @Ladybrrrd shared were much more thorough conversions than would ever be aired on highlights so I can see the appeal.
Ha, I really enjoyed Survivor. Would like to do those challenges!

Ladybrrrd · 30/10/2023 20:56

I hardly ever actually watch the live. I just read the summaries on Reddit and hunt for clips!

Ladybrrrd · 30/10/2023 20:57

But it's nice when I can.

Quirkyme · 30/10/2023 21:09

Aww. Bless Trish and Henry haha

RigorMortisRadio · 30/10/2023 21:24

How on earth did Kerry manage to turn that onto Dylan

Quirkyme · 30/10/2023 21:24

Kerry's going to cry 🙄

Lol what are you lot thinking about this task?

purpleme12 · 30/10/2023 21:25

Think this is a bit harsh this task

I know right, she's going to cry at seeing a recorded video of Hallie 🙄

I like the task though, I think it's fun. Obviously set up to cause drama though. Hilarious that Kerrie tried to make it about Dylan. I'm not sure I know who Zac and Hallie were talking about though??

honeyrider · 30/10/2023 21:26

It's an interesting task

honeyrider · 30/10/2023 21:29

Zak was probably on about Chanelle
