I love this show so much so I wanted to savour it because it's also the final series, but I've only gone and binged the whole lot in one go!

Anyone else watching or watched this?

Have also watched it all, not quite in one go but it is quite a quick watch.

I enjoyed it, wasn't sure i'd like the grown up children but thought it was better than the last series which just got annoying with him moving out because his son said he had to.

foxlover47 · 22/10/2023 15:31

I tried to be good but binged it all yesterday

TrackerBar · 22/10/2023 22:06

When Ally's friends came over it was so awkward, but I like the way she handled it.

I don't want to say too much and give away spoilers if people haven't seen it.......

.......and I was wondering where I had seen the actor who plays Luke. He was Liam in Ladhood, which is also a great show.

Yes! I wanted them to leave and never come back...........like they were in MY house.....

I also was going 'NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!' when Luke made his choice about uni.

I got way too invested! 😁

Enjoyed it a lot, binged quickly. I missed the previous child actors, though the news ones were good actors, their characters irritated me a bit, but that's just me. There was some great writing, with some good laughs. I love Paul's parents dialogue in particular, and their ageing is sensitively portrayed.
I like how doesn't make a massive thing about if Paul & Ali are separating or not...they just continue to be deeply connected. I still have a weird little crush on Paul...

TrackerBar · 23/10/2023 20:34

@emmylousings Paul's parents are so funny. In the first series when they keep having to take Luke to hospital his mum has some absolutely cracking lines.

The grown up Luke and Ava were so well cast.
I found the switching timelines more annoying this series particularly Pauls parents house movements.

Don’t want to spoil anything but loved Jackie’s last words to Christine 😂

really enjoyed all the series and binged this one in 2 nights, will rewatch probably, liked everyone’s endings even if they weren’t what you expected.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 26/10/2023 00:21

I binged it,is it really the last series? I thought it ended quite openly .

I actually thought it was the best so far, outstanding development of characters and the truest portrayal of family life on telly with regards to just how hard it can all be at times.

Jbck · 26/10/2023 20:03

I liked that it wasn’t all tied up neatly, agree it was very true to life at times.

MrsDotCotton · 21/11/2023 23:33

We are nearly finished it and love it. The timeline is driving my H insane though. Martin Freeman's lines crack me up!

Soj34 · 29/11/2023 21:28

I didn't understand how Ava met her partner who worked at the sheltered housing place before her grandparents had even moved in. I find the partner's character very irritating though.

I love Paul's parents. Alun Armstrong is a treasure.

Watched the whole series yesterday. Loved it.
