I loved the book, would recommend to my oldest daughter but not her younger sister. Have read reviews which say the TV version is a bit sanitised- has anyone started it? Would it be OK for a 13 year old?

There are unmistakable themes of rape and a shocking end to episode 2 (I’ve not read the book btw ) so I guess only you know if your 13yo will be affected by it. Personally on the basis of the first two episodes, I’d say I wouldn’t have watched it with my DD at 13.

What guidance does the TV station give? Is it watershed? Check out the IMdB parental guidance.

Thank you, it was those scenes I was concerned about, based on the book, but I had read that the whole thing had been changed a little. Thank you; I will watch on my own first I think!
Hard to find something not too kiddy but not to grown up either!

@FiftyNotNifty i’d recommend’For all mankind’ on Apple for 13y olds. Very good and an alternative perspective about the space race. Interesting themes but not overtly sexual/inappropriate.

Oh thank you! I will look that up
