and who the hell wants to go to a working mens club anyway?

not watching it - what's wrong with a working mens club? most of them are open to all these days - just retain the name of "mens club" (well in the bog standard ones that's the case)

no they are blaming the lack of people in them on "forriners" and not the fact that they are relic from the past and full of old men and the atmostphere of a morgue

It's in Bradford isn't it? In the area where Dh grew up. Not watching it, may just go and have a look!

noooo they're not all like that - my Aunt is the barmaid in her local one (has been since she left school.......over 50yrs ago!) and it's great. Much more popular than the "proper" pub directly across the road - full (of men and women) almost every night.

But then it's a small village so it may be different in clubs in larger towns/cities

there was a bloke on the program just now insisting he wasn't working class because he had a mobile phone and went on aeroplanes.

i have to say - this is not showing the white working class in a good light...
