continue 😊

OP posts:

I've just caught up with the whole episode and I've got to say I do feel a bit sorry for Olivia and Hallie now - I think I'd go a bit batshit in those cages in the rain!

Cheeseistheword · 20/10/2023 17:17

Yeah not going to read all this rant/essay to be honest but you're clearly very triggered by the whole trans talk, so maybe that's more a you thing.

Anyway. Very disappointed Kerry isn't up for eviction tonight. I think Zac will go

You asked, she answered. No need to be so rude about it.

Gothambutnotahamster · 20/10/2023 19:35

Sheisready · 20/10/2023 17:59

I hope it's Zac who goes. He's too loud for me, and I really didn't like his sexist remarks the other night.

Me too plus I'm still loving Yinrun and she'll be gutted if Henry goes.

FWIW, I've been working all day & just caught up on the thread. I assume the trans stuff started because of my comment about Olivia being conditioned as a female to apologise. That wasn't meant in a transphobic way in any way at all & you'll not find any comments that are hateful towards Hallie from me. It was a simple observation based on events in the house & my personal life experience of women being pre-disposed to apologising.

I didn't mean to derail the thread in any way as I'm loving this series of BB as it seems proper old school (although I do wish there had been a whole house punishment for the rule breaking as that would have meant it properly kicked off!)

foxylab2023 · 20/10/2023 19:37

Hallie has already gone through years of treatment it's not a sudden decision she's made. I think it's awful that you are basically questioning her decision on something it is very very clear is not something she has chosen overnight.

Haggisfish3 · 20/10/2023 19:45

i hope Zac goes but I fear it will be Henry.

Haggisfish3 · 20/10/2023 19:47

Interestingly I don’t think they have captured the younger crowd in terms of teens-I’m a secondary teacher and none of the kids I teach are watching.

Sheisready · 20/10/2023 19:48

Do you think it's possible for a teenager to make an informed decision about being castrated when they are a) so young and b) have never had a sexual relationship? My question is genuine and I really think that these things should be discussed more openly.

I agree.

That's alright though, I suspect many who tuned in did so for the nostalgia in part. It's refreshing to have content not directed just at the younger market (love island etc).

I found it a but sexist tbh, making blanket statements about women and what we do or don't do. Is Kerry less of a woman because she gave a stupid non-apology? It just ends up sounding like you're saying that non-apologetic people aren't woman-ing properly?
Fair play to you for coming back and I'm sure you didn't mean it that way.

I was also a bit confused having properly watched the episode - Hallie did apologize. She said sorry when she stood up (albeit she was on the defensive) , then gave both Noky and Zak a decent private apology. Fair play to her I feel.

I do think she's dramatic, and she's not my favourite, but actually I don't think she's handled conflict in a bad way at all. She owned up to who she was talking about, she's calm when she's talking to people and listens to them. A gossip, sure, but that's almost the whole point of the show - everyone's doing it!

If people really want to discuss this and other trans issues could a new thread be started for this?

Ladybrrrd · 20/10/2023 19:54

Me too 😫 Really interested in more Henry-Jacob romance!

Ladybrrrd · 20/10/2023 19:55

Henry-Jacob-Matty interactions I should say.

FadeAwayAndRadiate · 20/10/2023 19:56

Another vote her for Zak. To go!

SunflowerBaby · 20/10/2023 20:05

I felt really bad for Matty. He looked so sad at the end of the episode. I hope Kerry's comments haven't triggered him.

Happy to subject us to the huge quote tho. I voted for Henry to go, but not really bothered either way tbh. Only voted for Henry because he seems more potato than man, mooning after Jordan.

I wish they would, it’s ruining the thread

Sheisready · 20/10/2023 20:32

I thought it was tough for Matty too, Kerry just wasn't listening at all. I also admired him saying 'no, not right now' to the hug.

TheHappiestChristmasTree · 20/10/2023 20:44

I like that they handle conflict maturely. Can't be doing with another fight night! Looking forward to the eviction, hope it's televised better than last week.

MrTiddlesTheCat · 20/10/2023 20:47

Is Matty the one who's a doctor? If so, I find him very strange. Like he's playing the role of some airheaded hippy when in fact he's really very clever.

Yeah I can’t work him out either. He really doesn’t strike me as doctor material!

Sheisready · 20/10/2023 20:56

Oh, he does me. I was at uni with medics like him. Bet he did a gap year too.

Aquarius1234 · 20/10/2023 20:58

Does anyone fancy any of the housemates?

Not me

Sheisready · 20/10/2023 21:01

No, not really.
