Anyone else a bit annoyed by the new way they do nominations and evictions??

I don't like how we find out who's up for eviction first before seeing nominations... and then the person voted out has their interview on the later show instead of the eviction show.

It's all a bit topsy turvy. I still love big brother and will continue watching but it does take away some element of surprise

It's shite isn't it? 😆 Let's hope it was a one-off. It's just bizarre. When I heard (on Friday morning,) that Farida and Kerry were up, I thought 'WTF? Confused What did I miss???' Apparently the nominations were on the 'aftershow' on Thursday night! I didn't know that, and don't recall them saying the nominations would be on the aftershow. (Not saying they didn't say it, just that I didn't hear it!)

Hope they go back to normal next week! Have the housemates nominating someone on say, Wednesday, then having the top 2 (or 3) most voted for up for eviction. And then have a public vote open from 10pm Wednesday, and have the eviction on Friday.

I can't believe Kerry is only 40, she dresses really old for her age

OMG IS she? Shock I would have put her at 52-55 years old. 40?! Most 40 year olds I know look 29 to 35! My neighbour is 40 in February, and she looks like she could be Kerry's daughter!

Farida actually looks younger than Kerry, even though Farida is 50. I would have guessed Farida as 44-45 and Kerry as 52-55.

The main show would just be longer if the interview was on there. Eg 90 mins
Now it's supposed to be shorter and then interview pretty much immediately on after show to give more time.
So for me it makes no difference.
Normally you'd have adverts in between them walking down the stairs and sitting down to be interviewed.

I would rather nominations on Tuesday again tho.

But the actual announcement of the eviction was also on the after show so if you do a series record on the TV you don't actually see who's even been evicted.

Mouldyfoodhelp · 14/10/2023 12:02

I imagine it's the same on catch up as well

flowerpot258 · 14/10/2023 12:16

@FadeAwayAndRadiate Yes! Haha I was the exact same. Thought I'd somehow missed something. Takes away from watching the nominations when you already know who's up. Plus they used to go in and nominate 2 people and now it's just 1 nominations each??

If it ain't broke don't fix it GrinGrin

Haggisfish3 · 14/10/2023 12:32

And no best bits?!? Farida just signed a photo of herself.

I think Kerry is absolutely a bully, her manipulation and nastiness has paid off this time, I'm just hoping the rest of them start to see her true colours soon. I really wasn't comfortable seeing how Farrida was being treated at times in there, maybe she could be annoying but that doesn't make it alright to be so nasty.

This

MrTiddlesTheCat · 14/10/2023 11:25

Did anyone else notice Kerry whooping it up when BB said it was time to announce the nominations having earlier bitched about Farida whooping it up when BB said it was time to do the nominations? Such a sly hypocrite.

She's a nasty piece of work

Sheisready · 14/10/2023 12:43

Farida had an interesting personality, I can't quite get a grip on it. She seemed to be intelligent and have good awareness, and then every now and then say something shockingly personal and rude.

I wonder why they've messed around with the nominations. It worked much better the old way.
I do hope they do another series, and try out some new presenters. I agree Rylan would be good on the support show. I wonder if Mel and Sue would suit the main show? It needs someone compassionate and confident.

Mouldyfoodhelp · 14/10/2023 13:05

Dunno I wanted Kelly to go but Farida seemed a bit fake to me literally anytime someone mentioned something diverse about them essentially" ahh OK that's brilliant I accept everyone's way of how they choose to live their life" which obviously is a nice sentiment but the way she said it sounded false

Aquarius1234 · 14/10/2023 13:06

Lasts nights eviction was extended they did announce Farida right at the end of eviction show with that long pause.
Then Late and Live for the interview.

No idea why, probably just wanting to avoid two interview s.

Aquarius1234 · 14/10/2023 13:12

My issue right from the start was only being 6 week long, plus 16 housemates.
Far too rushed.
I remember when in some series I'm sure they didn't nominated until after 7 days with everyone in the house.
So at least the 1st one evicted had a 2 week stay, plus more drama and build up created.

35965a · 14/10/2023 13:53

I was wondering why Kerry got so annoyed when Farida said something like ‘people our age/generation’ I didn’t realise she’s only 40! Would have put her at older than Farida 😬

Kerry definitely gives me ‘bully’ vibes, I wonder who she will start on next? Or will she be on her best behaviour to try and avoid being nominated again?

Some of them are so dull though, it is a shame the bigger personalities get picked off first.

MrTiddlesTheCat · 14/10/2023 14:35

I've been ruminating on the change to just 1 nomination. I don't like it because I don't like change, but I'm wondering if it could make things more interesting.

It makes it very difficult for a dominant group to pick off a weaker, smaller group. But also puts the manipulators at risk of being hoisted by their own petard. So housemate A hates housemate B and slyly gets everyone to nominate them. Housemate B isn't stupid and knows what A is up to so nomiates them. That 1 vote is enough to bring about as head to head on eviction night as it doesn't get drowned out by second votes. It could be interesting ...

Gothambutnotahamster · 14/10/2023 15:16

Good theory @MrTiddlesTheCat

I'm still enjoying it. Was intrigued by Farida as she is so confident & looked amazing for the eviction but was also staggeringly rude at times and appeared to have mo self-awareness!

Kerry seems like a bit of a bitch but equally if i lived with Farida, she'd drive me crazy too. Plus I'd be annoyed at someone trying to constantly remind me I'm old when I'm only 40 & 10 years younger than the person saying it!

I watched on catch up and you saw who was evicted and the eviction but the interview was on the after show

And if they are only putting the 2 housemates with the most votes up then it doesn't matter if it's a vote to save or a vote to leave - you get the same result and the public really do get to decide.

von1471 · 14/10/2023 17:03

Much as I wasn’t Farida’s biggest fan, it’s a shame she was evicted as her comments made it more interesting and stirred it up. That’s the problem with BB, any controversial characters will be up for eviction leaving the ‘nice’ ones still in, which is fine but not very interesting viewing.

EddieHowesShithousingMags · 14/10/2023 18:38

There’s a clip on Twitter post eviction of Jordan and Henry stood by Farida’s bed. Henry says ‘should we say a few words?’ and Jordan replies ‘No….she wouldn’t have listened anyway’ 😂😂😂

MrTiddlesTheCat · 14/10/2023 20:22

Well I now know who Kerry will be going after next, Olivia. An article came up on my Facebook feed, apparantly she was caught ranting on the live feed on Thursday night but it wasn't aired.

"Olivia, she's just an obnoxious little witch"

Haggisfish3 · 14/10/2023 20:35

Wow!!! Strong words!!! Olivia is your typical loud weegie - I wouldn’t describe her as a witch.

Haggisfish3 · 14/10/2023 20:36

I do really like Jordan.
