I watched S1 in someone else's house, really liked it. Does anyone know if I can watch on something that isn't Sky?

I get it via my Virgin Media contract. ie they include a couple of Sky channels. So maybe another streaming service does.

Anyway I came on this thread to find out if anyone had binge watched series 3.

I have always like the way each series has taken a current political issue (in fact usually more than one) and woven it into a story line.

I am not sure this time it was so sucessful.

But will say no more, in case others are watching week by week.

O thank you, I'm just about to revise my Virgin contract, I'll get the tv option, don't bother with it usually.

A bit off topic, but I was advised to do this and it worked!

If you can actually get hold of a human at VM imply that you just dont know if VM is good value for money, and you had thought of including the tv service, but then that would be more money and wasn't most of what they have already available elsewhere. (Or some such story)

Admittedly I did have to go as far as cancelling my contract, but then a few days later a 3rd party (will see if I can find the name) rang to find out why I had left, and they negotiated me a very nice deal.

O thank you @IwantToRetire I've been trying to get a human at Virgin for a couple of weeks, reaching peak frustration with the wretched bots and giving up before I reach breaking point. I am definitely going to take your advice.

I find it hard to differentiate between the series now. Still can't understand what Archie brings to the table when spends all his time plotting against PM. The PMs wife is almost as pointless as Mrs Major. Please someone tell me they tell daughter to go f* herself and see how long it takes to get the SAS in once she starts to whimper for mummy.

I think the writers think this is how politicians behave. Who knows how rees-moog behaves behind doors, instead of his oh so polite public persona.

And I bet quite a few tory men spoke to Theresa May like that. Bet they thought she was really "wet".

Agree @newnamethanks - very lazy writers. Think all that's needed to insinuate Machiavellian characteristics these days re televisual requirements is an occasionally arched brow plus an unsubtle dig. Perhaps because very few raise their eyes from phone; tv writers probably have an algorithm - 'ooh, a whole paragraph! Let's carry it over a few pages interspersed with close ups and stage directions eg a few wiggly eyebrows, PM fists bashing table, Woman wearing ill fitting VB knock off dress (why do the shoulder pads - chicken / egg? Difficult to define. that's not there for any reason apart from to suggest canoodles from PM past exits left

Bring back the "House of Cards" series!

The Books were absolutely shite but tele adaptation was amazing! Francis Urquart's (sp) as PM's catch phrase re "I couldn't possibly comment . . ." still sends hopeful shivers to get rid of whoever at the given moment was causing particular grief. We may have had Wills on the now throne instead of his angst riven Dad; "Will no one rid me of this foul fountain pen" (to paraphrase, a lot). whilst Fergie settled on . . . anything involving loads of cash plus 'royalish' cushion for her and daughters.

Apologies, have no idea how to edit etc so will just leave and try an explain - if anyone was bothered!
