I haven’t seen it mentioned but has anyone been watching the newest Star Wars spin off, Ahsoka?

Whilst I enjoyed it, the final episode was really odd. Thrawn’s return to the galaxy is presented as terrible event that must be prevented at all costs, but Ahsoka and friends barely seem to give a shit for the first part of the episode.

They fail to stop it and three of them are stranded in the other galaxy, but again, barely seem to give a shit. If they don’t care about his return, why should I?

Such a weirdly paced episode and series.

Yes, I think it’s because they’re being all Jedi zen like and trust that they’ll get back and fix it. But it’s really weird. And if I’m right, Ezra sacrificed himself to make sure thrawn got stuck on the far side of a distant galaxy, and then the short hair one just ambles back over to find him, thus allowing the baddies to return, and he’s not even a little bit miffed.

Plus the beardy guy and blond staring sidekick woman who just came back into the last few frames to remind us that they too were still on the planet (the planet where they all just hang around within about 20 miles of the landing spot).

And, I’ve clearly been reading too much Terry Pratchett. Every time those spooky red witches came on screen and spooked about in service of thrawn, I kept imagining them just popping home at the end of the day, taking their big pointy hats off, talking in normal voices again, ironing their magic robes etc.

I wouldn’t say all this to my Star Wars obsessed 13/15 year olds though. Maybe just a bit of it. Bring on andor season 2.
