Harry Megan Vs Beckham doc

I’m just wondering what everyone thought were good comparisons between the two documentaries. What stood out to me is that the Beckhams suffered far more media abuse but seemed to just buckle down and get on with it. Compared to how Harry and Megan. I wonder if they watch this and feel a bit embarrassed now!!

How can you compare the two

one couple will always have a huge amount of international media intrusion in their lives

the other had a brand created around them and courted the press at every opportunity even including their children they have had choices and they choose to creat (or their pr team did) more interest and still do

I haven’t seen the Beckham doc but the media abuse Meghan and Harry have received is insane and not at all proportionate to what they have actually done. I am aware the Beckhams have also received awful press over the years, but I doubt it is more than Harry and Meghan which is endless.

Why would they be embarrassed? The ones who should be embarrassed are the ones who believe the tabloid shit written about them.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had a lot more to contend with.

The following year, two neo-Nazis were jailed after inciting terror attacks on targets including Prince Harry, who was branded a “race traitor” in offending online material.

Why should anybody put up with media abuse?

I think the main difference is the M and H one used footage from things unrelated to themselves to bolster their claims. Like they showed a crowd from a Harry Potter film opening claiming it was a crowd of people with cameras aimed at Harry. There's more examples but I am sure to get hit by the bots soon.

Without investigating I don't believe the Beckhams would resort to using unrelated footage in their documentary but maybe someone knows who studied it better.

To me the big difference between the two couples is that the Beckham's actively worked on building their brand and therefore their fame. Harry was famous when he was in utero. He never had any choice in how famous he was, nor the brand he was born a part of. Meghan married him knowing all of that, but ultimately being Harry or his wife and not being staggeringly famous - with all the shit that comes with that - was never an option for them.

I think you should watch the Beckham documentary then. I was absolutely shocked at the abuse DB got over that red card. I'd also forgotten how obsessed the tabloids were with them in the 00s. VB was usually portrayed negatively.
