Has anyone seen this? It's about the Australian figure skating pair team. Awful story and I found Harley to be very cold and unpleasant when telling the story.

Yes. That poor girl was abandoned by everyone when she had to give up skating. The whole program seemed to be about all of those people trying to distance themselves from any responsibility.

Yes. At least Harley's father and sister showed some understanding about how Katya must have felt, but it seems Harley was mostly resentful about her ruining his career.

There seemed to be an awful lot of " well it wasn't my fault" going on.
There wasn't much in the way of the personal relationships between the people involved. Did Harley and Katya get on or was there a clash of personalities? Did they only have a professional relationship or was there a friendship? What was her relationship with the coaches she was living with? Where they like family and then kicked her out or was it all business and she basically had no one around her that cared for years?
Is the vagueness around her problems with health and alcohol because nobody was watching her enough to notice or people covering their backsides now?

I think it's pretty fair to say that Katya and Harley were never friends and by the sounds of it, didn't really get on.

As for the coaches, it very much sounds like they were super harsh on her and "home" was just a continuation of training and discipline rather than a nice atmosphere. I think she mentioned in an interview quoted in the documentary how hard it was to live with coaches. They were also much harsher on her than on Harley because pair girls are usually treated like crap and also because she was Russian, so they could swear at her in their native language like they couldn't at Harley. But on the other hand, she went completely off the rails when leaving them.

Harley is not cold at all. He’s a lovely young man. He was only young himself and her going off the rails wasn’t anything he could or should control that was up to her coach’s and I think they couldn’t get her the support she needed. She was a very strong young girl but she lost her dad and missed home then lost her career. Very sad for both of them.
