Have ran out of ideas on NETFLIX also would like recommendations on terrestrial, Amazon or we have a Disney trial. Easy watching, drama, comedy, Rom/Com, Thriller, films, a series to binge.

Can’t seem to find anything to watch at the minute after just finishing the latest series of Sex Education.

Also enjoyed from memory; Catastrophe (and a few other things with Sharon Hogan in), Motherland, Blue Light, No Offence, Virgin River, Ozark, Schitts Creek, Ginny & Georgia, Unorthodox, Grace & Frankie, Peaky Blinders, Handmaids Tale, a couple of thriller type films with Denzel Washington in etc etc.

DeadLoch

I just watched it this week. It's a murder mystery but it's also borderline a parody of murder mysteries. It riffs on the a lot of cliches of the genre and, though I wouldn't say it's laugh out loud funny, there is a hint of comedy in there.

I really enjoyed it by the end. 8/10

Only Murders in the Building might be up your street on Disney. I enjoyed Class of ’07 (Australian comedy) on Prime.

Lonecatwithkitten · 29/09/2023 16:27

There's a fifth series of virgin river.

Prizepudding · 29/09/2023 16:43

Fisk (Netflix) and 5 bedrooms (bbc iplayer), both Australian, light hearted and funny. Also like pp says, only Murders in the building on Disney plus.

Daddylonglegs123 · 29/09/2023 16:50

Thanks I will check some of these up. DH is the detective fan I am less bothered about them. I am more drama, romcom, easy watching.

We have seen Virgin Rivers latest series, also enjoyed 5 Bedrooms (awhile ago), This is us, another Australian series Offspring and the latest Sex in the City series called something like and just like that.

Another vote for only murders in the building

NoTeaNoShade · 29/09/2023 18:40

Ted Lasso on Apple if you have it. Fun for all the family.

BeanyBops · 29/09/2023 18:59

I really enjoyed Girls 5eva on Netflix way more than I thought I would! Then realised its Tina fey and it all made sense.

Just finished survival of the thickest too, which was great.

Obviously sex education s4 now!

Daddylonglegs123 · 29/09/2023 19:49

Yes Ted Lasso was brilliant.

We enjoyed Outer Reach, Night Sky(really enjoyed this!)

Delphigirl · 29/09/2023 19:56

You will like Fisk and ted lasso

kikisparks · 29/09/2023 19:59

Thriller- shelter on Amazon prime.
comedy- only murders in the building on Disney.
If you get Apple, the after party and Schmigadoon are good too.

Stokey · 29/09/2023 21:54

Apple has some good comedies - as well as Ted Lasso, there's Shrinking and Platonic. And Severance for a weird comedy drama.
Have you done Black Mirror on Netflix?

On iPlayer Colin from Accounts is funny and silly. And on C4 Taskmaster and The Change with Bridget Christie.

On Now, White Lotus is excellent. Also for crime, The Mare of Eastown with Kate Winslett.

Umanresources · 29/09/2023 21:56

I can't believe I've gone back to Golden Girls on Disney+. I think it's just as funny now as it was then, although the 80s fashion is so dated!

CherryCokeFanatic · 30/09/2023 09:04

Red Oaks on Amazon Prime

CherryCokeFanatic · 30/09/2023 09:05

Pam and Tommy on Disney+

vjg13 · 01/10/2023 14:58

The Bear on Disney, took me a few episodes to get into but love it now.

BlessedBeTheFruitCake · 01/10/2023 16:04

I’ve just watched Jury Duty on Amazon/Freevee and enjoyed it.

NotAMug · 01/10/2023 16:19

How I Met your Mother on Disney

Pemba · 01/10/2023 17:23

If you're OK with a fantasy element mixed in with the comedy, The Good Place on Netflix and What We Do in the Shadows on Disney plus are both really funny.
