For some reason boredom I watched the celeb big brother with ulrika and coolio (2009). It wasn't just rose tinted glasses I did find it genuinely entertaining. Is this type of program just not possible anymore? I try to get into newer trash TV, but it's so stage managed and drawn out and formulaic. I loved 90 day fiance at one point, then they started to drag each issue out forever, filler, repetition, filler. Mafs OK at first, then manipulation, scripting, false bollocks. Has this type of TV just had it's day?
I even tried to watch the new bake off and it's so contrived and saccharine that toddlers would turn their noses up. I struck me that most TV is basically just kids TV aimed at adults these days. I quite liked the one where they did pottery, apart from the giant man baby who cried as a gimmick and the overly earnest other host. Why can't they just have a contest now, without swelling music and tragic back stories and a playschool atmosphere 
I feel like I need to watch a bit of cronenberg or lynch to restore balance
