I have an uneasy feeling that I am forgiving Nigel quite a bit of ringering because he is so hot. Sky Masterston is not a low skill musical part. But he was amazing to watch. He did look like it was an effort at times though.

Layton just looked like a dancer. Nowhere to go, no learning to do, and I have no idea why he’s on here. I sat watching him with my arms crossed. I do wonder why on earth they put Les on straight afterwards as it just highlighted how unfair it feels.

My best contestants have potential but need work - I feel like really that should be the whole point of the show. I haven’t watched since the start but pretty much all the celebrities I’ve most enjoyed watching have been on that track. Lovely Nigel is at the top of the permissibly not quite there scale!

Possibly Nigel may have peaked too soon, like Will Mellor.

To be honest I couldn't really tell you what Layton's dancing was like. I've suddenly fallen for Nikita even though he's not my previous type and I thought my ovaries were permanently and entirely devoted to Kai. Anything else happening on screen while Nikita is smiling down the lens and dancing his socks off might as well be on ITV for all I'll notice it.

Typed out a whole reply ref Nigel and then accidentally swiped the page and lost it! 🤦‍♀️ Anyway, the gist was that he’s really no more ringery than any other actor that’s been on here, G&D was over 15 years ago and musicals have probably been less than 10% of his career with half of that being directing rather than on stage. Really hope he hasn’t peaked, want to see him keep going for lots more weeks!

I had to google “Strictly pro dancer Cameron” and was still none the wiser - don’t remember him at all! Was he another Luba/Nancy/Neil, in the pro dances but never given his own celeb? ‘Cos I remember seeing them in group dances and ITT demos and thinking “who the fuck is that?”, but not Cameron.

Yes, Cameron has never been given his own celeb.

Layton didn't look great next to Nikita. It's one of the reasons girl/girl couples I know spend ages practising in front of mirrors, because if you're meant to be doing the same thing side-by-side it really shows when one of you can't do it as well as the other!

I agree Polka, Layton needs to work on tracking with Nikita, and Anton's comments were right there was too much energy going on. He was better than I thought he might be and there appears to be some humility in there, so hopefully he can use the notes he was given and balance things off.

I used to think KFG would be the next Anton, but he sensibly left before that could happen. I also now think Kai will be shoehorned into the spot Anton vacated, which is a shame imho. I’d like to see him have a few ringers and another good crack at winning the glitter ball first; he’s only 28 or thereabouts, iirc. Funniest moment of the night for me was the vt when he told Angela what the song was and she clearly didn’t know the words but mouthed p-p-p-p like a goldfish, very enthusiastically.

I'd also like to see Neil partnered with a sleb again. He gets a lot of flak every year on mn but it takes time to really warm to the pros sometimes and I don't think he's had the best chance.
