What is everyone's vies on the BBC cancelling 10 hours of broadcasting of her work?

Pissed off.

AutumnCrow · 13/09/2023 00:45

The BBC complaints process is an absolute joke so I'm going to email the Director General directly so his office gets the memo - I imagine lots of people will be doing the same.

It's tim.davie @ bbc.co.uk (without the gaps)

zen1 · 13/09/2023 00:49

It’s a bloody joke. And they’re supposedly ‘unbiased’.

YearsofYears · 13/09/2023 06:54

Its quite worrying in my view. These were just tweets expressing an opinion. The Guardian are running a review of her new album and its as if she has committed a heinous crime 🙄

EasternStandard · 13/09/2023 06:55

Entirely captured and dangerous for free speech

They weren't even tweets. They were screenshots of a private Facebook conversation

I'm personally sick of this shit. She should be allowed to state (a perfectly legitimate in my eyes) opinion and not put up with this nonsense from a section of rabid TRA's. Cancelling as a result is just vile.

LindorDoubleChoc · 13/09/2023 10:25

I will be emailing the chairman to express my disgust.

Caughtinlove · 13/09/2023 10:29

Thanks Autumncrow will email. I think it's outrageous. Male artists never get held to the same standards women are expected to reach.

JaneJeffer · 13/09/2023 11:42

It's because she's Irish

AnSolas · 13/09/2023 11:54

Men with assaults (physical and sexual) against both sexes will be given a free pass.
But the work and economic life of woman who states an opinion which is fully in line with the UK's official health policy is supressed by a body which received public funds.

If the employees and directors want to exert pressure on public policy they should all run as MPs in the elections

The directors need to deside if they provide a public service or not.

If they want to act like a commercial business they need to hand back the money they get for serving the public.

IwantToRetire · 13/09/2023 14:41

I am not that familiar with her work but was astonished to hear they had done this, though not that the Guardian wrote the sanctimonious rubbish that it did.

Does anyone know if the BBC has ever done this with any other performer, whether musician, actor, comedian?

Its hard to fathom how they could justify such a draconian act.

Does anyone have a link to where the BBC have made this statement? Thanks

ClaribelLowLieth · 13/09/2023 14:54

This is really concerning! What can be done though? Letters of complaint will just be ignored as coming from 'transphobes.'

VeryQuaintIrene · 13/09/2023 14:56

Disgraceful, as was the Guardian review.

TodayInahurry · 13/09/2023 15:21

Sadly the BBC has outlived its time, so woke and left wing we hardly ever watch it. The licence fee should be scrapped

Hurrydash · 14/09/2023 00:30

Does anyone believe the BBC explanation for this?
If the BBC say it's raining we'd all better look out of the window to check, and probably see glorious sunshine,
The organisation is a pitiful joke.
But the tories are doing zip about it.

AutumnCrow · 14/09/2023 00:54

I've written to the BBC to ask what's occurring.

If anyone would love to it’s them. What can they do though? You’d be hard pressed to find staff that are not pro left

Labour and BBC will work together more. Both captured.

It pisses me off that after Chris Brown beat Rhianna up, they played his music all the time. Says it all.
