That's horrific. I pretty much record everything now if it's on a channel with adverts on, and watch it later. The ad breaks fill me with rage, and stress me out! They are too frequent and too long, and the majority of adverts, are so annoying and stupid.
Apart from the ad breaks being too long, the individual ads are too! As well as being annoying and stupid. Some are borderline gross and offensive. eg, the pissy pad one with the woman sat on the shitter with her underpants around her ankles. Grim.
Also, the OMAZE house advert. OMG that is irritating, with that stupid blonde woman and her stupid grinning face and her stupid sappy voice. And there are so many cruise ads on the afternoon TV! (Especially during Classic Corrie and Classic Emmerdale.) And also ads for life insurance go on forever.
The long ad breaks have even made it to mainstream ITV1 now. Corrie is on for 60 minutes - 8.00pm til 9.00pm, and yet the other week, I counted how many minutes the show was actually on. It was 39 minutes. Only two thirds of the time slot was the actual show. (I know I'm a bit sad LOL. I just wanted to see, as the ad breaks seemed to be getting longer in the evenings/at night!)
So now me and DH start recording it at 8.00pm, and then start watching it (the recording) at around 8.17pm. We skip the ad breaks, and are caught up before 9.00pm! We do it with Love island too (on ITVbe.) I have watched it live a few times, and it's really jarred me. 6 minutes of show, 5 minute ad break, 7 minutes of show, 6 minute ad break, 8 minutes of show, 5 minute ad break, 10 minutes of show, 7 minute ad break... And so on... Painful.
The other night Love Island was on from 10.00pm to 11.25pm. (85 minutes.) I went through it after, and totted up the times there too... It was 53 minutes of actual show, and 32 minutes of ad breaks
If we didn't have the ability to record and then watch later (with ad breaks cut out,) there's a lot of stuff I wouldn't/couldn't watch..
