....Can't understand why Brian can't leave stuff to the Unspellable One. What did Jennifer expect? Or am I being dim?

I only have the vaguest notion of what you're talking about, but does any of this help?

seeker · 03/03/2008 11:46

Thank you PW - nobody ever tells me anything....mutter mutter mutter mutter

I think it's because Adam and Debbie have effectively run the farm for not a huge wage on the understanding that they would inherit it.

Also, if Brian dies next week (wishful thinking here obviously) they would have to wait until Rory (easier to spell the English way!) was 18 before they could do anything with it as they would have to take his views into consideration.

scampadoodle · 03/03/2008 13:19

Well, Kate & Alice (his other biological children) aren't inheriting the farm as they're not interested - Brian's provided for them in other ways. I don't see why he can't do this for the Unspellable One until such a time as he shows a real interest in farming.

Also, has Owen's trial been yet?

And is Brenda being unreasonable??

Blandmum · 03/03/2008 13:28

Agree with Tommy. Adam and Debbie are grafting for him and little Rugrat will have done nowt to boost the farms coffers

sophiewd · 03/03/2008 13:34

Having been in same position then agree with Jenny, Brenda is a difficult one

Blandmum · 03/03/2008 13:36

The thing is, Brian has always treated jenifffffers's kids as his own.

It was only with the arrival of the Male Fruit of His Over Active Loins, Rugrat, that things have shifted a little

Threadworm · 03/03/2008 13:36

No one in the archers can dispose of their property without whinging from the younger gegeration. Remember Elizabeth's hissy fit about David and Ruth getting the farm? She has a stately home ffs.

Blandmum · 03/03/2008 13:37

Oh Gawd yes and she was whittering on about having to make sure that Lily and Freddy have enough to live on!

scampadoodle · 03/03/2008 13:43

To get back to Brenda, I can understand why she is upset but practically speaking this means she will inherit a self-contained property all to herself for no outlay whereas Roy is having to take out a mortgage to pay for making the house 2 properties (How big is it anyway???)

From an inheritance tax point of view Mike really should make the house over to Roy & Hayley now or they're going to get hammered when he dies...

Blandmum · 03/03/2008 13:44

It is real. It is a fly on the wall documentary of every day farming folk

Tommy · 03/03/2008 13:44

lol at Rugrat - will call him that from now on.

can't remember what's going on with Brenda?

choccypig · 03/03/2008 13:45

And when will Matt and Lillian make up?

Tommy · 03/03/2008 13:46

right - of course - yes Brenda is definitely being unreasonable (and selfish and childish)

oops · 03/03/2008 13:48

Message withdrawn

scampadoodle · 03/03/2008 13:48

Please let Matt & Lillian make up soon as Lillian is only fun when she's not moping

Threadworm · 03/03/2008 20:11

They must have read your last post scamp!

scampadoodle · 03/03/2008 20:27
