Aaron. It's Claire's baby. Why she's got him I don't know.

Joolyjoolyjoo · 03/03/2008 00:09

I think they are trying to tell us that Claire isn't one of the six that get off the island. But Kate has her baby, for some reason

jellies · 03/03/2008 08:28

OOOOH... Thanks! Now why wouldn't the lovely Doc want to see him??? Oh I love this show!

So glad someone has cleared that up!

I was very disappointed with last nights episode and Penelope's phone number - her London number started with a 7, but it was 1994. The 0207/0208 codes weren't introduced until the late 90s.

LyraSilvertongue · 03/03/2008 09:03

It was actually 1996. Still to early for the new codes though I think.

lucylala · 03/03/2008 11:33

OMG, DON'T post spoilers in the title!!!

Thanks a lot , I'm only on season 3!

bitofadramaqueen · 03/03/2008 12:45

Oops, pregnancy brain. Def still too early for the codes though they came into force after I moved to London which was in 98.

rantinghousewife · 03/03/2008 12:50

Inner london codes in 96 were 0171 for inner london.

bitofadramaqueen · 03/03/2008 12:55

Indeed they were - but the 020 code wasn't till later. I thought Penelope gave an 8 digit code for her London number that started with 7 - that would have suggested a 020 prefix rather than 0171. I was half asleep when watching it though .

egypt · 03/03/2008 13:18

but it's fictional . if they used an actual number people would ring it!

egypt · 03/03/2008 13:19

and i'm only on episode 4 of season 4 so tell me more.......

rantinghousewife · 03/03/2008 13:20

Des did actually say to Sayid, it's a london number when he went to dial it though.

bitofadramaqueen · 03/03/2008 13:35

Indeed you're right Egypt - it is fictional...

Given all the Lost fanatics out there though, I would have thought the writers would have taken more care though. In December 1996 any London number would have had a 0171/0181 prefix followed by a 7 digit number so if Des gave Sayeed the 7 digits and said it was a London number it would have been more accurate. London doesn't have 7 digit numbers dont exist any more so even if someone rang it, it wouldn't have worked.

Am concerned that I am now sounding like a Lost fanatic, clearly time to go back to work .

LazyLinePainterJane · 03/03/2008 14:08

It's not a bleeding spoiler if it's been on UK TV!!! Fair enough it's on SKY but it's not like they are actually showing on terrestrial... you could see much the same in a trailer for a further episode or come across such information easily.

lucylala · 04/03/2008 09:04

I haven't got SKY and am watching it on video so I know nothing about season 4 on SKY on purpose - just don't put the storyline in the title - that's not much to ask...

egypt · 04/03/2008 10:12

agree lucy, if you want to find spoilers you look by choice. i wouldn't mind knowing, cos god knows when dh will pick up the rest of season 4 from china......

we're in asia so cant get it on tv

MascaraOHara · 04/03/2008 10:17

I love Lost but jeez you lot... does it matter if the number was realistic or not? there are much more important things in Lost to discuss.

bitofadramaqueen · 04/03/2008 13:38

I'm not particulary obsessed by the number, it was just some aimless chat. Am much more interested in why Jack doesn't want to see the baby too...

I wouldn't have thought that anything in a fictional tv programme was important at all the end of the day... .

Novicecamper · 04/03/2008 13:41

Actually, did the number have anything to do with the usual numbers? I didn't listen closely enough. You know the 6 numbers that were on the hatch and that appeared in nearly every episode of season 2 somewhere.

mrsbabookaloo · 04/03/2008 13:42

I think Jack didn't want to see the baby because he thought it was Sawyer's baby...I assumed he didn't know it was Aaron...?

bitofadramaqueen · 04/03/2008 13:48

Ooh, I dont know Novice - anyone else note the numbers? I was half asleep when watching it this week so only picked up on the code thing.

I'm normally quite rubbish at spotting 'hidden' meanings... I'd completely forgotten until I saw it on another Lost thread on here about Claire being Jack's dad's daughter. Does Jack know?

LazyLinePainterJane · 04/03/2008 14:01

I think that Jack didn't want to see Aaron because he knows that it is Claire's son (his half-sister) and she is either dead following some choice he made or, she is trapped on the island still and she needs him to go back for her (hence his mad ramblings in the first flash forward last season).

Whilst I think the London phone number was simply a mistake and not anything to do with The Numbers I think does matter that they got it wrong. Lost is one of those shows that has meant people record and watch back, pausing, researching the meanings of seemingly glib comments, trawling the internet for quotes and references to fiction for hours. When you have that level of fan attention, it is important to make sure the details are right.

delcymru · 04/03/2008 14:05

Are you sure that it's Aaron . I played it back 6 times and still could'nt catch what she said. My dp thought she called him Hurley but I thought it was a bit far fetched for him to have slept with Kate.

LazyLinePainterJane · 04/03/2008 14:08

Apparently subtitles say it is Aaron.

Plus, when Kate walks into his room at the end of the episode, you can see that there are some ornaments on the side, I think a wallaby and something else, holding the Aussie flag, confirming that it is him.

delcymru · 05/03/2008 08:25

Oh well spotted ,I really have to look more for things like that. Thanks LLPJ.
