Loving this excellent trash 😊

As always it's all about the casting...

Think I'm weeks behind but can't find another thread!

I love it. They're all a bit useless aren't they? He was told that one fish and chip van wouldn't be enough but didn't bother hiring another one. Madness.

PermanentTemporary · 28/08/2023 21:01

Not sure if I'm on that episode! Looking forward to it. I'm watching these two lovely people get married under Concorde 😮

They are all driving me mad! Someone in every episode is always fucking about potato printing 400 sq metres of fabric (normally the woman from Hull with glasses) - meanwhile no one has ordered chairs or booze or bothered to make sure they know what time the bride is arriving.

Top telly!

PermanentTemporary · 28/08/2023 23:03

Right, just binged 3 episodes and am totally hooked. I'm always a bit sad when they deliberately book the bitchiest people they can find though. I'd rather they were all lovely like on that nice Sewing Bee. Maybe they feed them all amphetamines or something.

Loving the couples though. Heartwarming.

I’m a bit confused as to what the couple are supposed to have organised and what the wedding planners are supposed to do - venue and food should be firmly with the couple. It would massively eat into the £10k budget if the wedding planners had to cover catering.

PermanentTemporary · 28/08/2023 23:19

Yes I agree. It seems to be 'if it's inessential, we're all over it'.

Yes they never seem to have a handle on the basics do they? Like when the actual wedding ceremony is taking place 🤦‍♀️

I did get the impression that he was maybe restricted budget so couldn't hire another fish and chip van. But just buying a load of snacks from tesco was never going to work was it. Maybe should have found a cheaper helicopter or not hired one at all.

Mooserp · 29/08/2023 08:07

I've only watched the concorde one and was bemused by the boarding pass idea which cost a ridiculous amount of money. I couldn't imagine any of the guests keeping them.

Admittedly I haven't been to a wedding for years so I don't know what sort of bonkers things happen these days

Netaporter · 31/08/2023 06:24

This is mine and DD’s current ‘utter shite but must watch telly’ 😂 We’re all caught up. Apart from the general ‘wtf does Sara Davis know about weddings apart from maybe her own’? It is compulsive viewing. Obviously they selected contestants with absolutely no organisational and for some, no interpersonal skills either.

No spoilers, but Bernie ends up each week looking more and more like a ‘Tweenie’ and the the gobby woman from Bristol dials up the bitchometer to level 100. She is clearly not coping and I hope she is getting some support after this has gone out because it really is uncomfortable viewing.

Sadly, Sewing Bee/Bake off this is not, which is a shame.

MotherOfGodWeeFella · 31/08/2023 06:28

I've not watched for a couple weeks, but think I might need to catch up!

Doingmybest12 · 31/08/2023 06:32

Well the right person went this week, it was edited so she looked to be deliberately wanting the organiser to fail this week, which fair enough being competitive and tactical but maybe not at the expense of someone's wedding. The bride and groom did say at the start people were driving themselves , so not sure what all the bus drama was about. I think the arty, glasses lady was shown just making things again but in the end she'd arranged the punch etc. She is obviously too competent to give more tv time to,I want to see her be the main organiser next week..

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 31/08/2023 21:33

I really want to know the backstory to why Shabana was there in her slippers...

Trainers/Toms etc I could understand, but hotel slippers?!

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 31/08/2023 21:38

I didn't understand the coach issue either. Wouldn't it be really inconvenient if your car was left 12 miles away at the end of the night if you'd already planned to be the designated driver?

icelollycraving · 01/09/2023 16:04

So many questions this week, why was Shabana in slippers in the first place? Why did the one who went act so utterly unpleasant each week? Why do they not get more bloody organised?!

Doingmybest12 · 02/09/2023 07:12

Was there a mention of the budget this week? At the end I didn't hear anything about being on or over budget ?

shakeitoffsis · 02/09/2023 07:26

Shabana js useless I can't believe she's still there.
Tash to win!

PepeLePugh · 02/09/2023 07:43

Must admit this programme is a guilty pleasure of mine.

Yasmin had the claws out this week- what a bitch!

Netaporter · 02/09/2023 07:53

@Doingmybest12 they all get £10k in total per week. We never know how much the couple has already spent up to this point getting ‘the basics’ -Dress, Venue, catering etc. the £10k is for flowers, fripperies and as per last week, transportation.

OMGitsnotgood · 05/09/2023 22:00

wrong person into the final I thought (avoiding spoilers)

Netaporter · 06/09/2023 10:15

I agree @OMGitsnotgood - Gutted for Tash. Toby robbed her of the place in the final I thought by taking over. Hated the faux ‘Love you’s from him and he couldn’t keep Shabbanah in line with yet another over-the-top experience spend. And too emotional. Tasha and Chantelle over the series have been do-ers, team players and have been the key to making the weddings look fabulous. Toby is theatrical but it is the design touches that have made the days so far.

This wedding was the best so far I thought, but tbf, the brief was clearer and simpler - none of this GOT meets HP meets Guadeloupe in the forest instructions 😂

Chantelle to win for me.

Doingmybest12 · 06/09/2023 19:31

Tash made the mistake of deferring to Toby in the first meeting, asking him to lead the conversation. Shame she was sharing the role because on her own she might've impressed more. It was a lovely wedding.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 06/09/2023 19:59

I'd have had Tash and Toby in the final.

I don't think having two head planners worked well.

Doingmybest12 · 06/09/2023 20:21

I think the other woman through is a good all rounder. I guess all the contestants will help with the final, so poor Tash will be there to do all her arty stuff again.

MoustacheTwirler · 07/09/2023 20:00

Tash got stitched with having to share the head planner role this week. I really wanted to see what she could do other than her creative arty stuff. Based on last nights episode, I think the right two people went through.
