So sad to hear this too. Such a talent in the industry. Family and friends must be devastated.

I know right? It was nice to read the interview and hear how Beth is based on his mum and a lot of it is about him growing up as a young gay man in Scotland.

The writing was just amazing, so talented. One of the best bits of writing out there, and I don’t say that lightly.

A truly talented writer because it's not about inserting jokes in a sit com and revolving character around action and joke lines.... It's the true observation of people and development of characters and we laugh at their familiarity and chat.
We laugh at how ridiculous and loveable we all are as human beings .
What a loss.

I love TDD, as do my parents. It took me a wee while to lean in to the cringe (Move Closer by Phyllis Nelson is ruined forever).

I’m struggling to articulate it, but it’s great to see these little slices of boring old Scottish suburban life being brought to life.
RIP Simon Carlyle.

That's so sad. Two Doors Down is such a good-hearted series - it's never cruel, just funny and perceptive, and sometimes really poignant. It was recommended to me by a friend who said, straight-faced, 'You'll have to guess which character my family say is just like me.' I guessed Kathy. It turned out she thought they meant Beth.

(But I was right, apparently.)

I love TDD because they managed to bring so many characters into it.

Anne Marie was hilarious but we all know someone like her, nervous, overshares. Louise was lovely as a character in her own right not just because she was deaf but it’s so nice to bring her in as Michelle’s friend and Alan just sees her as being her. The nurse and waitress were two amazing characters too as well as the barista in the Christmas one.

I did wonder why they never brought back Beth’s sister Daniela Nardini (so funny) from the pilot or the hilarious Henning and Nina and why didn’t Angus reappear?!

It's back! Series 7 24th November 😃

I love TDD and am sad there won't be any more. I wonder what the huge series-ending drama will be? Beth installs a self-service drinks machine by the front door, thereby obviating the need for anyone to slump on her three-piece suite again?

There might be more as there’s another scriptwriter. There were 2.

Not sure what the other scriptwriter (Gregor?) who sadly passed would’ve said re this though.
