Anyone else wound up by Violet and Sean storyline in Coronation Street?

Oooo on this thread about Corrie, can I just say that I was at the Mayor of Accrington's ball (not sure whether to put or at admitting to such a hot social life pmsl) on Saturday night and Ken Barlow was there!

The baby who plays Dylan is from here too - that is how I know it is a girl as I know the mum.

She begged Sean to father that child!! Now she's casting him aside like a used hankie! It's not right!! As for the birth....WHAT?? Regardless of how much pain I was in, I think I would move through to the back shop!! Bad enough to have 3 student MWs staring up your flaps, never mind Liz and Vernon!! SHUDDER!!

Im surprised i heard any of Fridays corrie cos i talkeed that much at the screen! As dp wasnt interested, i roped poor ds1 in to rant at about Violets 5 min birth on the pub sofa!!

But didn't Sean agree on the basis that he wouldn't have anything to do with the baby? And now he's changed his mind and wants to be totally hands-on. In which case, I think they're both at fault - Violet for trying to pretend he isn't the dad and Sean for reneging on their agreement. Mind you, as I don't watch it all the time, I could have dreamt all that!

I deliberatly didn't watch Corrie on Fri as I was sure I would get really annoyed at the birth scenes!
Is that why they are having a refurb, to get all the, er, bodily fluids out of the upholstery??

Freckle, Sean agreeing pre-conception not to get involved is what a solicitor would call 'scope for conflict' !!

Ceebee we had this conversation about a year ago, I emailed you with my details and didn't hear back so I assumed you were someone who already knows me and scarpered!

Now back to this Corrie thread, I love corrie cos it has really good long term threads. So, Jamie will be on the birth certificate and in 18 years the child will fall in love with another child fathered by Sean, conceived of a surrogate mother and brought up by Sean and wotsisname but the children won't know cos sean won't be on Dylans birth certificate!!

I don't think jamie should be named the father cos he's not but i don't think sean should be either. he agreed to be a sperm donor and he hasn't stuck to the original agreement. he was never meant to bring up this child as his own and i think vi has every right to move away if she doesn't want him involved. it may seem cruel but you have to remember sean is the one who's broken the agreement and got too involved.

I hated the story line from day 1 and stopped following it but this is my impression.

Day 1 - I want a baby
Day 2 - Oh I am pg!
Until birth - no worries or problems other than is it a boy or girl
Day 1 after birth - Lets change father from bioligical to feckless b/f who left me for stepmother (I only wanted something to love so I will have a baby!
Whatever next????????

I want a baby, I will use a turkey baster and of course get pregnant first attempt cos it's that easy that's why everyone gets pregnant first shag too

Gay sperm donor who live on same street as me won't want anything to do with the baby anyway except to fall for gay sonographer who lets slip babies sex when I don't want to know.

I will have the fastest first time birth ever with all and sundry staring up my whoohaa on a pub couch with God knows what spilled on it.

Oh and forgive bloke who shagged stepmother behind my back and who's baby I lost (wasn't it an ectopic so that lessened my chances of getting pregnant even more) now we want to play happy families.

DH was in total agreement re the unrealistic birth. They never have a 2 dayer do they in soapland? And when she started she had just come in from the yard but refused to go into the back.

Agree re David's tan. What's that all about?

Also have you noticed that Coronation Street is the only street of terraced houses in Greater Manchester that is not end to end with parked cars. Where do they all keep their cars when they are not using them. And obviously since they spend so much time in the pub they are not using them much. So when Liam comes out of his house to walk across to the factory where is his car? The cars are only ever parked there when they are about to go out in them - like they have some invisible valet parking service.

And yes, i hadnt though why the Rovers might be having a refurb. Didnt see them put any inco pads down, so that could be a real possibilty. Though im surprised the sonagrapher didnt have a supply in his delivery bag as seems very familar with delivering babies. OOH I WAS SO .

And as poor old David's tan. Jesus. How funny. Makes me look white and im normally Fake Baked to the eyballs. lol

I like the way that everyone goes to the pub at lunchtime and has a bit of an alldayer. How do they function at the factory after. Surely its illegal to be operating a machine after a skinful.

And why does everyone go there for a first date/birthday/anniversary/wedding reception etc. Do they not have any other pubs in Wetherfield. Oh no, tell a lie. They sometimes go to the Italian now dont they?!
