Anyone watching? The daughter is incredibly mature but I'm surprised how much her mum was sharing relationship issues with her 14 year old daughter. Although it was probably obvious to her what was going on.

Ive just watched it, feel so sorry for the police having to deal with the aftermath, the daughter seems incredibly mature, poor girl

Littleguggi · 13/07/2023 22:33

I agree the daughter is so mature and was sadly a victim caught up in the toxic and abusive relationship between her mum and stepdad. I wish someone close to the mum who knew what was going on alerted professionals before it was too late. I wonder if social workers became involved after the mum did eventually reach out, and ask the daughter about how things really are at home. So sad!

I wondered how the police felt when they realised he had such serious injuries. So they could baby him up and throw away the key straight away.

The Fischer was amazing to be able to speak so coherently only two hours after the murder. But probably running on adrenaline. And shock.

Some of your post doesn't really make sense.

The victim's daughter was mature but also in shock I think (in the interview). It sounds as if she was 'forced' to grow up and mature quicker than she may have otherwise done. It must've been v difficult knowing so much about her mother's relationship - the manner in which she confronted the killer was brave but also very sad ie when he told her that she knew shit because she was only 14.

Ignore the typos. Fat fingers!

Yes I watched it . In awe of the young girls courage and maturity.

weleasewoderick23 · 14/07/2023 13:00

What channel is this on please? I'll watch it on catch up if I can.

kerstina · 14/07/2023 13:16

ITV

Toddlerteaplease · 14/07/2023 17:53

She can't be anymore than 19 now.

Just watched the 2nd episode in the series. Equally disturbing. Shocking to see how badly the police let the family down.

Littleguggi · 22/07/2023 09:45

I agree @lingmerth, the failings by the police where just shocking. Such a sad sad case!

Hallelujah2020 · 24/07/2023 19:51

Just watching episode 2

Hallelujah2020 · 25/07/2023 15:54

Haven’t stopped thinking about episode two. What a terrible way to kill someone and kill yourself.

The final 999 call was chilling.

The poor daughter being there, trying to comfort her mum.

I don’t know how she will ever recover from that or her children.

PenguiInaThong · 27/07/2023 22:00

Omg this is harrowing. Them poor young girls. The dad seemed a dark character full of secrets.

pinkchampagne1 · 27/07/2023 22:11

I have just watched this. Those poor little girls. 😢

Littleguggi · 28/07/2023 21:10

So so sad, such beautiful little girls taken away for what! The dad must have had some issues, I wondered if it was drug induced psychosis.

lingmerth · 28/07/2023 23:59

I've watched this tonight. Admit I cried for those poor little girls and their lovely mum.

They said his blood and urine were clear if drugs.

@Toddlerteaplease yes I was surprised by those results, although drug induced psychosis can still occur i.e when there has been a withdrawal from a drug/ substance. If not drug induced, then certainly some sort of mental health disorder or psychosis. How can anyone even dream of doing what he did.

kerstina · 04/08/2023 12:57

But could that have been the problem. Maybe being an addict he could not function without these drugs and have caused some kind of breakdown. I can’t imagine people could easily obtain the use of hard drugs during the lockdowns ?
it always seems to me drugs are usually involved in some way in these sort of cases.

WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 05/08/2023 06:40

They were all so harrowing. I cried at all of them. But the second episode- that man was pure evil.
