Didn’t see a thread already… anyone watched? I loved it!

I did however, the bit I liked the best was that he was a gay man not conforming to gender stereotypes and then at the end of the series they state he is going to become his true self and transition. Ruined it, I think anyway.

I got bored halfway through episode one. Glad I didn’t stick with it if it ended up pushing trans homophobia.

Me, too. The whole point was that Marco was quite femme and realised they didn't or shouldn't need to "butch up" or go without make-up to be accepted by their boyfriend. Someone who loved them for who they were = healthier relationship.

The issue is simply that, like Elliot Page in Umbrella Academy, the actor chosen to play Marco, Miss Benny, was transitioning in real life (iirc after auditions but before filming process).
That's why I think it was built into the script in the last episode, so that they can resume the role if it gets picked up for a second season: the same as Page having their character mention they were trans (not as a huge storyline, more like an aside) so they could remain in the show.

Miss Benny Is 'Glamorous'—And Transgender | Time

Here you go. In the black and white shot I thought they had "passing privilege" but a) my oldest clocked straight away and b) my middle says its transphobic to even mention whether they pass or not. I'm cancelled again.

I liked the show though even though I think that Kim's role was a bit flat.
I found myself liking Chad.

Miss Benny Is 'Glamorous'—And Transgender

Last week, my television series Glamorous came out on Netflix. And along with it, I too will come out as the transgender woman I’ve been privately living as for the last few years.

I really enjoyed the series, although it was completely insane at times. Fun, mindless fluff with some gorgeous cast members. I was disappointed in the very end although I understand the reasons for continuity with the actors, but one of the joys of it all was how people were depicted - gay men could be macho, femme, nerds, drag queens, multiple races and body types were all welcome. As long as future series focus on the fun and relationships it will be ok, I just hope it doesn’t turn into a transitioning story because the other characters deserve to be celebrated too.

I was enjoying it as mindless fun.
But was getting more and more annoyed at the sexism of boss lady not knowing about the company finances. It made no sense.
Then stopped watching at the pride line to save the company plan. As if MAC hasn't been doing it for decades.
Glad I did stop now I've read the ending.

I have just started this so wasn't aware of the trans aspect. Seemed like a Devil Wears Prada reboot.
