Il Cacciatore on Walter Presents

Is anyone watching this? It’s the most moving, gripping crime drama I’ve seen since Narcos and Spiral. Set in Palermo in the nineties, it’s the fictionalised account of bringing the Sicilian Mafia down and the toll it takes on the life of the prosecutors-and also the criminals. Just almost at the end of series 2 and have been chewing my nails!

If its the one I think it is, I just couldn't be bothered after trying based on a recommendation.

I thought it was really badly done.

I struggled through about 4 or 5 episodes more because the story is important.

Not sure why, as usually Italian crime series have a slightly frivilous louche style, so thought a more "serious" style would be better.

No comparison to Spiral in any way!

I think if you like Narcos or The Wire then you’d like this series. It is intense and it needs concentration at first as there are several characters where it’s a bit confusing who’s who. But I love the setting, the direction and the charisma of the actors playing complex, flawed characters. If anyone has any more recommendations from Walter Presents, I look forward to giving them a try when I’ve finished this one.
