The pastor guy is a bit creepy. I'm a christian, but found it a bit much she had to ask him for money like a teenager?

The pastor is a little odd and she's the worst Christian in the entire world! I'm a Christian too and I really can't see what that woman does which is in any way what God would want. The pastor's wife rocks, though!

pedilia · 24/02/2008 20:36

I normally take sides as well but both wives seem really nice, not sure about the pastor though!

sushistar · 24/02/2008 20:44

at scootergrrl...
The pastor's wife is a very hardworking lady.
The other wife is a very fun-loving, kind lady. I can see christian aspects AND things God might not like in both their lives iyswim.

I agree shhh as I'm going to watch it on +1 too LOL

sushistar · 24/02/2008 20:50

[waves at Trinity] I was reading your other thread about getting your housework etc done. Hope you're feeling ok! Your thread has inspired me to try FLYing again but i agree the fly thread is a bit scary - they all seem to know what they're doing over there!!

Pastors wife IS a hardworking lady but soooo dull! I quite like the other girl- she's not perfect but her house is filled with laughter... I feel sorry for the pastor's children. Only my opinion but I think their lives are a bit joyless, and what was all that "if you get less than 7/10 right I'll get your teacher to call me and tell me" shit?

(I only had half an eye on tv so sorry if I got it wrong)

sushistar · 24/02/2008 20:52

Yup, that's what he said.
Poor girl.

I'm finding the pastor sreepy & think he taking advantage of his wife. She seems lovely if a little doormattish.

I don't think Christians are supposed to say Oh my God at every opportunity and that there's more to being a Christian than having fun with your kids (which Dawn admittedly does). She's obviously a nice, kind person but I don't see how that makes her a Christian, apart from saying that she is.
I didn't put it very well though and I VERY glad she's made the pastor lighten up a bit.

I was gutted when the youngest son said lets make crispy cakes when his mum got back and then his mum said lets just buy them and he cried.

I dont think she is as fun as the tv portrayed she was as she seemed to be out alot and it was clear the kids were left to fend for themselves alot.

mumofdjandp · 24/02/2008 21:19

I wasnt keen on the pastor chap bbbbbbbut in his defence I did not like the stupid things dawn was teaching the girl - like spitting out the milkshake, roaring at strangers - that was just wierd and saying the dad had no balls in front of the kids to be then backed up by the young girl was atrocious IMO.

I liked dawn fine but she seemed so young and well fancy free and unrealistic about pareting responsibilities and life in general. there are things we all dont want to do but well sorry love, we have to- thats life!!! Scott had the patience of a saint with Dawn and I think he does most of the parenting from what it looks like.

Feeling heart sorry for the youngest son though.

I really liked the pastors wife she seemed lovely - Judith I think she was called!

SparklyGothKat · 24/02/2008 21:20

thought it was a bit crap this week.

mumofdjandp · 24/02/2008 21:22

yeah wasnt the best but I still love being nosey and watching them teehee

would never go on it though in case my dh realises what a bum deal he has with me!

gigglewitch · 24/02/2008 21:23

I'm half-watching it (MN takes priority of course) on +1 atm. bit rubbish imo. think the producers were trying to make the religion thing a huge issue, but, erm, haven't got what they wanted.

JeremyVile · 24/02/2008 21:30

I thought vanity was was a sin?

How long does Pastor McCreeperson spend on that naff 80s quiff of his?

He's going straight to hell, you mark my words!

mumofdjandp · 24/02/2008 21:32

now now jeremy be nice!

I think hes a saved man

gigglewitch · 24/02/2008 21:42

saved? as in by the hair-gel?

JeremyVile · 24/02/2008 22:01

Well, he's certainly not been saved from the hair gel!

I love the pastors wife, she is such a lovely happy person. I wish she was my mum.

SueBaroo · 24/02/2008 22:02

ha ha raspberry to channel 4 for hoping for fireworks. Thought Judith was marvellous - managed to stick to her principles without being nasty about it. Her pastor husband was a bit of a twonk, but she was great.

I liked Dawn, but I was a bit about the whole 'I don't care what people think, it's all about me' thing in the Aftermath programme. Bless you Dawn, but if you're a Christian, it really isn't about you anymore

Hope they get back to church, and pleased to see the couples got a friendship with each other, too.

And that the dozy pastor does some more housework now!!
