Netflix or Prime series?

Feeling a bit at a loose end since coming to the end of Mrs Maisel and Bosch, we are also somewhat limited to these at the moment (long story). I'm annoying DH by watching Never Have I Ever.
We have watched a lot on Netflix but less on Prime except these two, we have nearly finished Orange is the New Black but got a bit bored with it, I have been watching Money Heist but DH doesn't really like it.

We usually go for gritty crime dramas, DH doesn't want to watch Queen Charlotte though I'd like to, we also enjoyed Colin from Accounts and like that sort of comedy.

Have you seen Ozark it's on Netflix, gritty drugs and mob stuff but also lots of lighter moments.

Or Good girls.

Floppyelf · 22/06/2023 07:22

You have to try black mirror.

drspouse · 22/06/2023 16:03

Have not tried either of those! Not completely sure DH would go for Black Mirror (he didn't like Killing Eve if it's dark like that).
We had a look at Deadloch briefly last night so we are going to try that.

I’d say Deadloch on Prime too. It’s essentially comic, but the tone is a bit uneven. And one character, well it could have been taken several notches down, let’s say.

wonkylegs · 22/06/2023 16:50

Must admit I didn't think we'd like it but got hooked to the man in the high castle on Prime
And I loved Reacher much better than the Tom cruise films much more like the books and in the same vein Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan is fairly watchable
Currently hooked on Little Fires Everywhere

Just watched vortex on netflix - french with subtitles - very good.

drspouse · 22/06/2023 18:19

Is Vortex fairly old and has a judge/court storyline alongside a police storyline, and a nanny that thinks the baby is the devil?
I think I watched it ages ago but DH kept falling asleep (he's not usually that bad with subtitles, it's not a definite no! Maybe we watched it when the DC were babies!).

Ozark is good, obviously reading Bad. Not crime but I enjoyed Maid, also Beef is quirky and funny.

drspouse · 22/06/2023 20:28

We loved Maid and I'd really like to see more like that especially as it's not crime!
I will look at Beef!
Breaking Bad (I think you meant that?) was our go to "DD is a newborn and needs feeding through the evening" series so I do remember why we fell asleep in that sometimes! DH likes Better Call Saul but I don't.

Completely agree, love the series but their character is just too ott and has spoiled it a bit for me.

Now has some £1 entertainment offers around atm. If you've not watched Succession its fab. Also Boardwalk Empire ( is older) is fantastic.

Modern Love on Prime is great - stand alone mini dramas.

drspouse · 22/06/2023 21:51

We saw Boardwalk Empire and loved it; I think we started Succession but we could try again.
Haven't seen Modern Love and will definitely take a look.

Having only watched 10 mins of Deadloch is it by any chance the police officer's girlfriend who is OTT??
