Anyone watching?

Set in Tasmania, comedy murder mystery, loads of women. I have roared with laughter at times.

It's not for everyone but I love it. Only 5 episodes so far. There's another 3 to come.

No but I will now!

angelopal · 20/06/2023 20:44

Yes been watching it. Wasn't sure about it at first but quite enjoying it now.

TeeBee · 20/06/2023 20:44

Yeah, it's very funny. I'm really enjoying it.

ArbitraryHaddock · 26/06/2023 08:17

Been watching this this week. Like others it took a while to grow on me, but it gets better!

cushioncovers · 26/06/2023 08:35

I will have a look.

FancyNancyShoes · 26/06/2023 09:49

Started watching it, got to ep 2 and gave up....thought it was awful

midsomermurderess · 26/06/2023 16:39

I’ve just drifted away from it. The detective from Darwin is intolerable. And generally, I just don’t care. If it had been a bit more understated, but still a bit off beam like Brokenwood, it would have worked better.

Awrite · 26/06/2023 16:52

I've taken a wee break. Can't be arsed with waiting a week between episodes so I'll wait until a few days before the 8th episode and blitz it.

Trying to watch the first episode now but it's very dark I can hardly see anything. What's up with that?

Onthegrid · 26/06/2023 18:03

I like Madeline Sami as a comedian (the Detective from Darwin) and whilst it is not the best thing I have watched found it quite enjoyable. Like the PP I have watched the first 3 episodes and will wait to binge the rest as that is now my preferred TV approach

I like a good redemption arc and she has one.

I wonder if it would fail the reverse Bechdel test? Some episodes might!

Awrite · 26/06/2023 22:15

Oh, that's interesting about the reverse Bechdel test.

I'm really enjoying it! It gets better every episode.

I'm having a few rages about vawg, but I'm enjoying the ridiculousness of the male response. I haven't phrased that right but my brain is on strike. You'll know what I mean, I think.

HellsTeethandBucketsofBlood · 01/07/2023 08:40

Madeline Sami was is the NZ taskmaster and was brilliant. Maybe because we were already used to her humour we really enjoyed Deadloch. While we wait for the last one we're watching The Letdown with a few of the cast which is similar humour. Also I recommend Colin From Accounts.

Awrite · 01/07/2023 11:41

I enjoyed The Letdown but didn't get past the second episode of Colin from Accounts.

The one-liners in Deadloch are so funny that they randomly appear in my head for days.

Am really enjoying it. It definitely grew on me.

mrstea301 · 03/07/2023 19:40

We watched the first episodes in a go, I think it's hilarious, absolutely cried with laughter at the crime scene painting! Can't wait to finish it!

DuesToTheDirt · 04/07/2023 23:01

I love this, it's so good!

Reverse Bechdel test, yes probably. Good job too.

Awrite · 07/07/2023 18:04

I have just finished the final episode.

Bloody loved it!

I loved this after a shaky start. It became funnier as the series went on and the mystery is kept close.

The last episode has one of the best "I'm an ALLY ACTUALLY" speeches I've seen on TV!😀

Tezza1 · 02/08/2023 21:42

I enjoyed it more and more as the episodes went on and the characters developed. Only problem was I picked who the baddie was simply by the actor playing the character.

Willmafrockfit · 09/08/2023 22:41

Really enjoyed episode 1

Sadilicious · 12/08/2023 18:24

I’ve just finished it - loved it.

CrappyBarbara · 12/08/2023 18:32

I LOVED it!!! One of the funniest things I’ve seen in a while. My favorite character was Cath, Dulcie’s wife/partner.

Willmafrockfit · 15/08/2023 06:36

i loved Sven - he had some good lines and um big eyes
