I'm rewatching and I just love this show! It's brilliant, funny and all about powerful, intelligent women with wonderful relationships.

And aside from the characterisation it's also deeply refreshing to see women who aren't stick-thin.

Anyone else a fan?!

I LOVE it! I want to watch again but it isn’t on Netflix is it?

fuckip · 18/06/2023 15:31

No I've signed up for a free week trial with ITVX to rewatch it - I can't believe it vanished from Netflix!

I think I'd give almost anything to have a lovely mum and grandmother like that - I had neither - and while I know it's a dumb fictional show, there must be people out there who have these things!

I also love Petra. I think she's an actual hero of mine 😁

I loved it. Loved the mix of insane soapy storylines and warm relatable romance.

Miss it.

Underthemagnificentbeechtree · 18/06/2023 19:28

Love it! Has it gone off Netflix 🙁?

OrangeSmartiesTasteDifferent · 18/06/2023 19:31

LOVE IT! I binge watched it all in about February before it was removed from Netflix 😢

RainBow725 · 18/06/2023 19:39

I love it too. Rogelio is just brilliant. Even though the storylines are ridiculous, it's so funny and charming that it keeps you wanting more. It's being shown on ITVBe. Not sure if it's gone from Netflix now.

fuckip · 18/06/2023 20:36

All the characters are so brilliantly done, the aesthetic look and feel is wonderful too.

I also love how it shows a realistic portrayal of having a child - just compare Rachel from Friends (the child may as well not exist) to Jane, who is either glued to Mateo or desperately working out childcare all the time.

And no big spoilers just in case but one particular story was heart wrenching on first viewing, I'm not enjoying knowing that one in advance as I rewatch 😭

Another fan. Have mumsnet to thank for me watching it in the first place as I would have thought it was a teen drama otherwise but probably the best thing I have seen on Netflix and my dd loved it too so great to share with her.

SQLsurfer · 18/06/2023 22:24

Thinking of that moment when she drops to the floor sobbing gives me goosebumps 😭

ThePanda · 18/06/2023 22:28

How have none of you mentioned the lovely Raphael? 😍

RainBow725 · 18/06/2023 23:11

Fair point @ThePanda! He makes me go involuntarily weak at the knees. He's not my type at all but somehow 😍.

PeriwinkleForever · 18/06/2023 23:11

I had never even heard of it until this year! I binged all of it in Jan / Feb and still feel bereft tbh. I loved it.

Danikm151 · 18/06/2023 23:32

I loved it and my bestie and I would discuss it every week.
we had a viewing get together for the last episode 😂

They did Michael dirty though!

ohfourfoxache · 18/06/2023 23:39

I’ve accessed through the ITV Hub - Netflix not needed!

peachgreen · 18/06/2023 23:54

Oooh me! I love it so much. The sad storyline you mentioned absolutely broke me (especially as it has happened to me). Her acting was incredible and I loved how it continued to impact her life for the rest of the show. (Although I hated the way the twist was handled, they ruined one of my favourite characters.)

Jane and Raphael’s first kiss is my second favourite TV kiss of all time (after Nick and Jess in New Girl). Justin Baldoni can KISS, my word.

Sweetsweetlike · 19/06/2023 00:21

My absolute fave 🤗

Ah thanks @fuckip. The first time I watched it I was with my DH and we both found it very moving. The second time I realise how well they had portrayed it as an experience.

NadjasNightclub · 19/06/2023 17:31

I reccomend this show to everyone, I love it so much! It's true how they show certain situations in life in such a realistic way, I can think of very few shows that do it so well.

And Rogelio is just delightful in every scene!

L13422 · 19/06/2023 20:39

I love it. Binged it when I was pregnant. I loved Michael and can't believe what they did to his character. Put me off the series a little bit, I never was a fan of Raphael. Wish there were more series around mums. Watched workin moms after and It's okay but not nearly as good

thebellagio · 20/06/2023 11:23

Loved it! Rogelio was an utter joy - he's also fabulous in Schmigadoon

If you love JTV, I highly recommend Not Dead Yet on Disney+ featuring Gina Rodriguez, another heartwarmer

Gothambutnotahamster · 22/10/2023 12:27

Very late to this thread, but just wanted to agree with all the comments - absolutely adore Jane the Virgin! Didn't realise it had gone from Netflix as would like to watch it again.

Legendairy · 22/10/2023 22:41

I think it's on ITVX now.

I absolutely lived it, loved Raphael, never really warmed to Michael at all. I have watched it twice through now. The main characters are just perfect.

TallulahG · 26/10/2023 11:23

I'm going to rewatch it. I watched it all when it came out and just loved it. And I always wished for a mother/grandmother like hers too OP!
