I am. I used to rather like him, but then I read his autobiography.

Im very interested in the history of London though .

I’m watching it now and really enjoying it. I used to like him when he was just in the Repair Shop but he’s becoming irritating now - probably just the result of being on TV too much.

I'm not aware of anything negative about him as haven't read his biography but as far as this three parter East end London series goes I'm hooked and can't wait for the next two . It's right up my street and more so because there's all the archive film to look forward to as the 19th and 20th century reveal real people in motion.

Now watching Episode 2...

It's like a secret little club we have here 😉😉 but once again I find this latest installment very interesting. A lot of editing done to highlight certain points to fit into the hour(s) but it's well presented. I had no knowledge of the tube station disaster on the stairs. How sad. The stairway monument is impressive!

I've just read his autobiography - what particular element of his life is abhorrent?

Thank you :)

Helendegenerate · 13/07/2023 20:29

I was slightly disappointed that there wasn't more archive film footage from that era but I get my fix thanks to YouTube.

Behonesttoyourself · 15/08/2024 03:53

He's getting annoying to watch now and a hypocrite tbh..If he's going to tell us about his life in a biography then surely tell all the good and all the bad.. seems to have missed a few things lol...

I like Jay Blades. I enjoyed the East End Through Time. I also loved The Midlands Through Time. I'm from the Midlands although I no longer live there
