I tend to generally agree with the general consensus on IMDB and find it to quite reliable when it comes to what not to waste my time with. Even for shows that aren't for me, such as Game of Thrones or Peaky Blinders, I can see why they are highly rated.
However, there are some films and shows that I've really enjoyed that have lower ratings on the site such as "Under the Silver Lake" which I think is shockingly low at 6.5! I'm limited on time for TV so I used to rely on IMDB as a definitive guide but now I will give some things a try if the blurb appeals to me and I wondered how much anyone else relies on the site as a guide on what to watch.
