End of an era. Longest serving quizmaster on UK TV, apparently. I wish him well. How very cruel that someone so bright and quick should be afflicted with Parkinson's.

Amol Rajan takes over for the next series, btw. Jury's out on that decision. I like him as a presenter, but he wouldn't have been my choice for this.

Horrible disease. I hope medication controls his symptoms enough to give him a reasonable quality of life.

Great match and the sign off was perfect. No drama. Good for him. Thanks Paxo.

A little tear did sneak out at the end of the final last night. Paxo always seemed to be very knowledgeable. I have high hopes for Amol though.

I wish him well too.

Did you see Amol last week? What did you think? I was hoping he wouldn't mutter. I sometimes accuse him of that when he's on 'Today'. On the whole I thought he didn't do too badly.

beguilingeyes · 24/07/2023 14:29

I thought he spoke a bit too fast and some of the questions were a bit garbled. Hopefully just beginners nerves.
I was hoping for Samira Ahmed

I had a chat with Paxo in a shop in Manchester a good few years ago. He was lovely.
