Channel 4 have stitched together all the court footage so it's side by side. Is anyone else watching?

I’m watching- enjoying it so far, it was fascinating at the time….

brassbells · 21/05/2023 21:25

Yes am watching

Namechange9625 · 21/05/2023 21:32

I forgot how flippant he was about his outbursts.

I'm watching on catch up. very interesting.
From the start she was acting to the jury. He was absolutely not perfect but he came across as genuine.
Too much drugs, drinks and a very toxic relationship

threecupsofteaminimum · 22/05/2023 11:28

I found it quite upsetting.

Yes, he's a hell raiser, uses drugs and drinks.

But her, she's dangerously unhinged, a fanatical liar and very frightening person. What a terrible match that they met and got together.

I agree with this, they brought out the absolute worst in each other

I think if she hadn't tried to over perform then people would have been way more sympathetic to her. Remember the "stepped on a bee" face she pulled? It was honestly ridiculous.

I don't doubt they were both awful to each other, but she became a laughing stock and therefore he 'won'

Namechange9625 · 22/05/2023 12:41

That's true. I'm finding it interesting when they have cut in commentators who evidence bits from the UK trial and how much wasn't said in Virginia or misattributed or "forgotten".

Hmm, I believed her during the trial, and watching this I'm horrified at the minimisation going on of his behaviour, and the flippancy, the smirking. It's so undermining. I still believe her. Do I think she was perfect? No. But there's no way he should have got off Scot free and elevated to Saint Johnny status.

marshmallowsforbreakfast · 22/05/2023 20:37

I've watched it and I also watched the trial. I think they were both as bad as each other but she over acted to the jury which was very irritating. A prime example of two damaged people who should never have got together.

I'm watching it and I agree. He's vile. Anyone who likes him needs therapy.

ladygindiva · 22/05/2023 21:58

It's actually very triggering for me as a LOT of the stuff she says he said it did, is eerily similar to the way a violent ex behaved. I totally believe her.

SquarePegInRoundHole · 22/05/2023 22:05

Didn't follow the trial at the time but knew that the tide was against her. For no reason other than instinct, I believe her. It's scary to watch.

determinedtomakethiswork · 22/05/2023 22:14

I started to watch it, but then they played a clip of him shouting at her and I had to turn it off. It was very triggering for me.

See I'm the same as you but the opposite - she reminds me so much of my abusive ex

I followed houseinhabit on insta who covered the trial. After the trial a woman who had a relationship with amber contacted houseinhabit and revealed a lot of information (and evidence) about amber more or less grooming women and bringing them to elite sex parties hosted by Musk. It was Ghislaine type vibes. Would defo recommend reading it

I shall. Sounds grim though.

shoulditbethishard1 · 22/05/2023 22:36

There’s an audio clip or them arguing about whether she punched him or hit him. In my mind I’m thinking surely the best response from here is to say I know what a punch is as you’ve punched me so many times. But in those arguments she never brings up his violence towards her (disclaimer she may have but it wasn’t in the recording that I heard)

it all just feels a bit odd, both were fucked up and just did terrible things to each other

I follow her too, fascinating the things she has on there. I believed the stories about Amber Heard too, she clearly has a whole box full of dirt on musk

Yes it's all strange

I also found it strange why AH"s ex Tasya (who is the ex amber was arrested for assaulting at the airport) never appeared as a witness to say this wasn't true. They remained friends after their break up and when it first became media knowledge a few years prior she released a statement to say it was untrue but surely you want to make that clear in court if it was such a critical point in your ex/friends court case? But I suppose making a media statement and sitting in a court witness box are two different kettle of fish. Now Tasya is working with Jennifer Howell from Art of Elysium (who was a witness for JD claiming AHs sister Whitney was lying) which I think is very telling imo.

There is so much more to it all that was going on outside the remit of the case. Don't think anyone will really know what fully happened the whole thing is a mindfield

I think they were as bad as each other, and it was one of those toxic relationships where they're both abusive.

Her mistake was to portray herself as a victim of abuse when it's obvious she's just as bad.

He had to take her to court, he was losing everything and had nothing more to lose.

He's a clever bloke with a lot of money and PR behind him, her defence team were as bad as her, of course he was going to win.

It was quite revealing how much his defence team appeared to genuinely like him, whilst hers constantly turned their backs to her and made no effort to speak to her as the court finished each day. (If it turned out Jonny had bribed her defence team it would actually make sense they were that shocking)

whomoon · 23/05/2023 13:48

I really don’t like how this ‘documentary’ is being told through clips from social media, and Youtubers/ TikTok channels.

I wanted to watch this to get a fuller picture of what happened, as when I watched most of it live, getting the full story from across 6 weeks was a lot to take in.

I had hoped they would go over some elements of it in depth, perhaps have expert legal opinions, and just the whole process of it overall.

Not keep cutting away to clips of screaming tik tok videos.

Are clips from social media now the new way to be a journalist?

Maybe I’m getting old!

TaraRhu · 24/05/2023 22:24

Just binged this. I think they are both as bad as each other. Very toxic. She brought out the worst in an substance addict. Just because he wasn't violent with others it doesn't mean he wasn't violent with her.

Her behaviour was pretty shoddy too. The poo in the bed....

I think it's appalling that either of them were awarded anything. I'm sure he hit her. I'm sure she hit him.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 31/05/2023 19:40

Agree with @happinessischocolate. I just watched all the episodes and think they're both as bad as each other and very toxic.

She overacted in court but I do believe he hit her (and she hit him). I'd like to know how he knows he didn't hit her when he was shitfaced on drugs most of the time.

What shocked me most was the social media stuff as I don't use social media. How can so many people think it's normal to film themselves and their (over)reactions to everything. It's ridiculous! How do these people cope with daily life when they need to dramatise everything? The mind boggles.

bathty · 31/05/2023 19:45

Did he cut his finger off or did she do it?

I think his story was more believable, that she threw the bottle across the room and it hit his hand on the bar
