This is the show I've been wanting for ages. I love it.

It's beautiful and horrific and so moving.

Please can someone else be watching so I can continue to wax lyrical?!

I've just finished episode 4 on the train and was holding back tears!

Yes also loved it! I was sobbing by the end. Really lovely series. Also recommend Fleishman is in Trouble also on Disney, has a similar feel.

Second recommendation for Fleishman is in Trouble, but the first episode of it is really hard to watch, it gets much better by episode 3.

Oh yes, there are some very uncomfortable moments but I can identify with that visceral fear about something happening to your child, which could lead to one lashing out at everything that could hurt them (including the child itself). Mine are only little so it's not happened to me, fortunately.
