JaninaDuszejko · 30/04/2023 23:19

I don't remember this then realised it was on ITV. Add that yothe pile of children's classics I never got to watch.

DramaAlpaca · 30/04/2023 23:24

50 years! That takes me back.

Wiccan · 30/04/2023 23:27

Loved this , also children of the stones which really scared the shit out of me !

tothesea · 30/04/2023 23:58

I loved The Tomorrow People!! I watched it religiously and had annuals and posters.. the lot. I think it was partly driven by fancying all the boys in it..even though I was only 5 or 6😂

Children of the Stones made a big impression on me! I rewatched it on You Tube a couple of years ago, it was just as weird as I remembered.

My dad went to school with Dave Prowse.

JoanChitty · 01/05/2023 11:01

I remember The Tomorrow People! Also loved The children of the Stones too.
Children's drama was good then. Some more series I loved were Ace Of Wands, Timeslip and Lost in Space. On BBC, Toms Midnight Garden, Thursday’s Child and A Little Princess.

I am the proud owner of a signed photograph from Nicholas Young of the Tomorrow People.
I was going to marry him, sideburns and all. I was 8 at the time.

Davros · 01/05/2023 16:50

The Owl Service...

SoMuchToBits · 01/05/2023 16:54

@NowZeusHasLainWithLeda same here! But I was 11 at the time. I still have the photo and the letter he wrote in reply to mine! Grin

Me too 🤣 I think he was the first person I properly fancied.
Off to Google him.

NowZeusHasLainWithLeda · 01/05/2023 18:15

Was your letter on blue notepaper and handwritten in fountain pen? Lovely handwriting. 🤣❤️

SoMuchToBits · 01/05/2023 18:18

@NowZeusHasLainWithLeda yes, probably my first crush! I was also totally obsessed with The Tomorrow People at that age and spent many hours hoping I would become one!Grin

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 01/05/2023 18:22

I loved The Tomorrow People. I was a young teenager and really fancied John. I also tried really hard to jaunt but sadly it was not to be

SoMuchToBits · 01/05/2023 18:23

@NowZeusHasLainWithLeda mine was on white paper, written in black fountain pen! And yes, lovely writing. Grin

I hated it but you've just made me feel old

DPotter · 01/05/2023 18:51

Loved The Tomorrow People - never saw Children's of the Stones, but it's a podcast I've got down to listen to

tothesea · 01/05/2023 19:16

Mike was my favourite 😍. I was explaining this series to DS2 (12) and about how much science fiction, spooky and well.. just really good drama there was for young people then. Apart from Stranger Things and Wednesday I don’t think he’s watched much drama. It tends to be comedy we watch. Any drama recommendations welcome.
