Please be good series 7! Also let’s hope Anne isn’t in a coma or something. Anyone else watching? I have to wait until tonight, sadly.

I started watching it yesterday and am a few episodes in.
Really enjoying it so far!

MermaidEyes · 27/04/2023 18:11

Binge watched it in two days! Will come back to rehash when everyone else has watched it 😆

shakeitoffshakeacocktail · 27/04/2023 18:49

I was talking to my friend about this show, I had no idea another series was about to drop. Can't wait to watch!

Funny though I described the show as complicated female characters, multi-layered women (which is a MUST for my viewing tastes) very funny and entertaining BUT I told her none of the characters are likeable! Does anyone agree?

LassoOfTruth · 27/04/2023 19:31

Yes @shakeitoffshakeacocktail I know what you mean! I like them on the show but probably wouldn’t in real life. Bit disappointed with the first episode but mainly because of the highly bizarre and extremely unrealistic way in which working in book publishing is portrayed. I mean I wish I could swan about in my amazing looking office having multiple meetings about the potential story of just one book … even if I had to breastfeed while doing so 😂 The old “men are uncomfortable around babies/breastfeeding” trope felt a bit old hat too, but I’m glad Anne is still in one piece.

All of the characters are AWFUL! But that's what I enjoy about it!

MermaidEyes · 28/04/2023 08:57

The only character I quite like is Val's fella. And Lionel is funny. A wuss. But funny.

jay55 · 28/04/2023 14:45

They are all awful, with likeable moments, except Jenny, she just wins at being the worst.

I'm up to the head.

OneToThree · 28/04/2023 16:33

How does Jenny know the self defence teacher? I’m lost on that storyline.

MermaidEyes · 28/04/2023 17:43

Didn't Gary work in the office Jenny worked in in the first season?

Inkypot · 28/04/2023 17:54

I didn't know there's a new series of this! That's my Friday night sorted once the kids are in bed 😁

OneToThree · 28/04/2023 23:22

Oh maybe @MermaidEyes thanks.

rebbles1 · 29/04/2023 00:28

I have forgotten who Gary was!?
Also I love Val. She is so hilarious makes me laugh every time 😆
Really not sure whether Ram is a good guy or not!

kernowpicklepie · 29/04/2023 07:40

That's where I've remembered Gary from aswell. I think he was a bit of a busybody.
I finished watching it last night.
I really enjoyed this season, more than some of the others. Think it was a lovely ending to the show aswell

OneToThree · 29/04/2023 07:49

I’m on ep 8 and really enjoying it too.

rebbles1 · 30/04/2023 20:15

Just finished watching it and glad it has a nice round ending without leaving you asking loads of questions. Sad it will be the last one I found it so funny

WTF475878237NC · 30/04/2023 20:20

Completely agree they're unlikeable. Self absorbed and never really there for each other although socialise a lot! And yet, absolutely love watching the scarily real whilst absurd evolution from new to motherhood to second and third babies and all that working motherhood brings.

lemonsaretheonlyfruit · 30/04/2023 20:23

I have never watched this but am a big fan of trash. Does this fit the bill? What kind of UK / US shows is it similar to?

OneToThree · 01/05/2023 10:47

I wouldn’t call it trash at all.
Its easy viewing but also funny and moving.
I can’t actually think of anything it’s like and I watch a lot of tv.

It's quite similar to Motherland, in that it's a comedy based around women and their families, children, careers. Also The Letdown if you ever watched that on Netflix.
