Just got an alert on my phone to say that Len Goodman has passed away.

May he be forever pickeling his walnuts in the great hereafter.

Thank you Len for giving us so much entertainment over the years!

Very sad news. We still laugh about 'pickling me walnuts' and 'sev-UHN!'

Willmafrockfit · 24/04/2023 09:39

oh no Sad

GrouchyKiwi · 24/04/2023 09:40

That’s a shame, I liked Len. His Desert Island Discs was very entertaining.

Willmafrockfit · 24/04/2023 09:41

only 78

Samcro · 24/04/2023 09:42

😰

Willmafrockfit · 24/04/2023 09:42

he had bone cancer

GeriKellmansUpdo · 24/04/2023 09:43

Oh no. I really liked his judging, mostly.

LBFseBrom · 24/04/2023 09:47

I really liked Len Goodman and am sad to read he died at 78 (79 tomorrow). However he lived his life and enjoyed it. Apparently he was only ill for a short while which is a blessing. RIP Len and thanks for the memories.

TennisWithDeborah · 24/04/2023 13:03

Shocked. I thought he was one of those people who’d live to 90 like Bruce F. He was so youthful and fit.

viques · 24/04/2023 19:55

It must be comforting in a small way for his family when they read the obviously very genuine and loving tributes that have been made by people who worked with him. Poor man, bone cancer is a horrible illness.

RIP Len, go up those heavenly stairs like Fred Astaire.

CaveMum · 24/04/2023 20:39

Such sad news.

Pre-Strictly my old dance teacher had worked with him on various events. She said she once had him as a guest instructor at a kid’s summer dance camp she was running and he brought along a box of water pistols for the kids to squirt at each other whilst dancing!

His autobiography was a very interesting read.

yoga4meinthemorning · 24/04/2023 21:02

Sad.

Also surprisingly young for someone fit and healthy.

GrouchyKiwi · 24/04/2023 21:04

He had bone cancer yoga. Sad

EachandEveryone · 24/04/2023 23:00

Im just watching the tribute, what a lovely bloke I bet he had some tales to tell😃 the old school are all going it feels especially this last couple of weeks.

BitchFaceResting · 25/04/2023 11:09

Interesting how everyone is conveniently forgetting his sexist comments on Strictly. For example:
...“There you were, like two sizzling sausages on a barbecue… Your bum was bionic.” (to a woman)
...You flew across the floor like a rampant crab
Susanna Reid's samba as being "all bounce, bums and bongos".

But hey, it's only sexist if MN says it is

Willmafrockfit · 25/04/2023 11:30

this is a thread for RIP
not to criticise
did anyone bring up anything on the beloved paul o'grady?

anyway, you are welcome to find things sexist

Askil · 25/04/2023 12:11

When I heard about it yesterday, I confused him with Bruce Forsyth and thought he was already dead and couldn't understand why they were announcing it all over again. The fact they both worked on Strictly didn't help either.
RIP.
