YES! It's my favourite thing on TV.

Am at end of series 4 at the moment.

Clayhead - are you in the US? We've just pre-ordered series 4...

Habbibu · 15/02/2008 20:50

Oh, and Rustie, YES!

Clayhead · 16/02/2008 16:53

No! Just watched it on FX. It was on last year but have been waiting to watch it with dh, who has been away. Have DVD on pre-order too, so I can re-watch (always bears watching again IMHO) and see the extras.

Did anyone see the Charlie Brooker piece on it a couple of weeks ago? He was chuffed at having been recognised by a couple of cast members at a party as the bloke of you tube who loves The Wire!

We've just finished series 3. I'm so addicted that we've been rationing viewing so we wouldn't have to wait too long to get series 4 on dvd, although I have been reliably informed that you can watch series online.
I bought first series on Charlie Brooker's say-so. I love him and thought I'd give it a go. I now love The Wire and don't know what I'll do when it ends. DH has lined up the Sopranos, but it's not the same

The story arc from the beginning of series one to the end of series three is amazing.

I found some of the stories so very sad (don't want to say to much in case I spoil it for someone!) and yet it can be so funny too.

I love the way that no one's character is black and white and the way that the storylines are given so long to develop.

Plus several attractive and charismatic men to watch is the icing on the cake .

Hear! Hear!
I usually find 'cop shows' a bit boring, but this...I don't know. Different: it's well written, hilarious (Omar deserves a show of his own) and they're not afraid of characters or storylines. Some of it borders on Shakespeare, for godsake! And, as you say, there's some eye-candy in there too.
