I couldn't see a thread on this -apologies if there is one.
Has anyone watched? I have just binged all episodes. Started off not really liking it but carried on as I had time on my hands and ended up really warming to it.

There are some fairly ridiculous stories along the way but I think the character development (particularly of the main character) was well done.

Yes I really liked it! I wasn't sure how I felt about the ending though! Is there going to be another season or is that just how they've left it?

GarlicGrace · 11/04/2023 00:30

I've seen about half of it and will finish it. I really like it, it's fun and 'truthy' in a humorous way. I keep thinking this is what Fleabag was supposed to be - I know lots of women loved Fleabag, but it irritated the hell out of me. Wellmania does the "pitfalls of life as a 30-something single woman" with more panache, imo.

Tried to watch it, but it really didn't grab me, and the actress/ comedienne I find irritating as hell on social media so that probably didn't help much.

God, I never look at actors' social media! They're all insufferable halfwits 😂 If they can make a decent job of pretending to be someone else, that's all I care about.

@GarlicGrace Unfortunately she pops up all the sodding time on Facebook and instagram for me (I'm in Aus) usually with a Woe is me crying car selfie to show she's real with her problems and if very much irritates..... I've never deliberately gone looking for them, believe me!

lemonsaretheonlyfruit · 11/04/2023 08:12

@SD1978 I can really imagine how having exposure to to someone like that on SM would impact your view on her. I have only ever seen those photo comparisons that she does.

I oscillated between thinking how annoying she was (but I think we were supposed to think that) and feeling for her too - but tbh more annoying and self centred than anything else.

All the palaver about getting back home. Aghhh I thought she might give up on the idea after everything that happened.

Yes the ending was odd. Was it just an abrupt end or leaving it open for another season?!

I've only ever seen her imitating famous people and models on Instagram looking rather less sexy. I think she is funny and have seen her live on stage. Not seen Wellmania though.

I quite enjoyed it but it seemed to be lacking something.

I certainly didn't think she was believable as a party animal nor as someone who would be on a big tv show.

I like Celeste... I follow her on Instagram and have seen her live... have never seen her do anything as described as above!

Mooserp · 12/04/2023 09:52

No, I haven't either. She has mentioned a few times about anxiety and having ADHD, but definitely no 'woe is me' posts

Tealsofa · 12/04/2023 09:58

I liked it, not laugh out loud, but still enjoyed it

lemonsaretheonlyfruit · 12/04/2023 10:37

Yes I told a friend about it last night and said it was definitely 'watchable' - no more and no less. But I did enjoy it more as it went on.

I binged it too! Enjoyed it - she was a bit too OTT though but I suppose that’s the point!

BiscuitLover3678 · 14/04/2023 21:07

Just finished episode 2 and I’m not loving it. It’s an easy enough watch but I really dislike all of the characters! They seem really 2d and the main character is particularly annoying. Feels a bit predictable. Does it get better?

hexsnidgett · 14/04/2023 21:10

I watched 'em all, but mostly for the love interest.Wink

ThereIbledit · 14/04/2023 21:39

I loved it but found the ending disappointing and puzzling - but I guess it's leaving room for another series.
