13 Reasons Why

Rewatching this series again. I watched it when it first came out back in around 2017 ish. It seemed really gripping then but now I'm finding the whole Hannah baker monologues really irritating. I know it gets darker as it goes along.

I see there are four seasons now. Are the other three worth watching and can anyone give me a brief rundown of what they're about? Is it the same characters etc?

I can't remember all the plot but I watched them all and really enjoyed it.

One thing that annoys me is how mean she is to Clay in the first series.

I remember the first series being really good (but upsetting - the edit I saw was the uncut scene which was shocking).

Series 2 is good but 3 I gave up on - the new character Annie was awful and didn't bother with 4.

Pretty much exactly the same experience as VenisStarr. Saw series 1 before they edited it and that final scene was haunting. Watched series 2 which was perfectly watchable as they had loose ends from series 1 to follow on from. I started series 3 but then didn't make it to the end. It wasn't memorable for me by that point but I do also have a memory of Annie not being a character I gelled with.

Same as VenusStarr and mummabubs, season 1 and 2 were good but I couldn't get on with Anj in Season 3 so I stopped watching it

Season 2 had an extremely graphic scene in the final episode, I remember that really shocked me upon viewing and had some pretty intense drama to follow. Season 3 was the worst of the 4 but I did still watch it all. Season 4 redeemed itself but was absolutely heartbreaking at some points (don't want to give spoilers). Basically, I would give it a go if your trying to decide on whether to watch or not 😊

I watched it all. I’m not sure I would watch again.
I wanted to know what happened to the characters, so I did stick with it. It all gets a little bit convoluted and they do all (the characters) look out for each other but they also start kind of blackmailing and covering things up.

We do get some interesting insights into Bryce.

Same for me as others, enjoyed 1 and 2 but 3 was frankly a bit shit. Didn't like the new character (Annie?) and also thought it was a bit daft that the personalities of certain characters did a complete 180 and you were somehow meant to believe that? I never bothered with season 4. And also, Clay. Just the most miserable fucking character ever. He never, ever smiles. He really started to grate on me after a while. Also interesting how his jealousy and obsession over the girls he liked being with other guys was never really addressed.
