I think I remember seeing a list somewhere once of people who'd been in various soaps for the longest time, but [in my opinion] it wasn't really meaningful because you get people who are in it for a bit as children and come back 20 years later as adults. So that distorts the picture. Number of appearances is a far better question, although in t'olden days you'd have many regulars appearing in the background in the Rovers, for instance. They don't do that now.

Notice how we don't need to use surnames for these people!

What's happened to Ed's wife the nurse. Maybe she's just on a long shift. She's been absent for a good while. Dev is rarely seen now either considering he has the corner shop. He was gorgeous when he was younger but very grizzled now and is only 57. Unlike Jai from the dales who was a bad boy in Corrie all those years ago. He was Dev's younger brother and has hardly aged at all.

I like the fact that David Platt has been played by the same actor from being a cheeky and annoying little schoolboy right up to the present and he's done so well in the role.
