Redemption - ITV spoiler thread for binge watchers via ITVx

Just thought I would ask if any one else has watched this?

It is available via ITVx and pleasantly it doesn't have anything like the number of ads that so much of ITVx has.

This maybe that because it is new (to the UK originally shown in Ireland) and hasn't had big right ups not many advertisers are paying for the slots.

Any thoughts?

Should say I am only up to episode 3, and not sure why I am enjoying it more than other 9pm series.

I think the set up is intersting, although implausible as so many crime dramas are.

Lots of good strong female characters, and lots of (mostly?) dodgy men.

I've binged the whole lot. I thought it was great (if a tad implausible!)

That's good to know. I am hoping to fit in another episode or 2 tonight.

Well I've finished it now, and even though towards the end it got really implausible, in terms of police procedures etc., I still liked it.

I did wonder if they really needed the family story and couldn't just have had a new detective, transferred for whatever reason, investigating on the side a crime she felt the vice squad had ignored.

I thought it a shame that the (grand)daughter was a bit of a caricature ie easily led by unpleasant young men, taking the side of her equally unpleasant dad. Although the actress playing her was very convincing.

I think I also liked it that the setting was much more in the ordinary world, ie no stupidly expensive houses with tv show type kitchens, and the the lead actress didn't have to be plastered with make up and strange hair styles.

I wonder if they were hoping for a second series?

I've been watching this. Thought there was another thread on it but can't find it now? Very sad about Anthony last night. Great secondment though, she seems to be solving all their crimes!
