He did the right thing. The chance of them being able to make a vaccine or cure was really remote. But still, that was a lot of people he killed...

I am told that in the game there is evidence that the Firefly’s had tried the procedure quite a few times before with no success so it’s a bit grasping at straws.
Plus I wouldn’t sacrifice my child to save anyone and in any case most of the dangers were from actual uninfected humans not fungus people
