Stath Lets Flats - does it get better?

I know I'm seriously late to this, but just watched episode 1. Thought it was mildly amusing at best and found Stath extremely annoying. I know that some series take a few episodes to get going. Stick with it or bail out now?

Stath is annoying. All the characters are annoying really. I loved it, but it’s up to personal taste

I didn't bother beyond a couple.

Pity in a way because you could make a lot of jokes about estate or letting agents and the variety of people letting or wanting to rent could make a good comedy.

Stath remains annoying. If you didn’t like the first episode, give it a miss.

I didn’t get it the first time I watched it but found it hilarious- the final series not quite as good. I think the characters have lots of heart as well as being annoying! And I fancy Jamie Demetriou!

I ended up loving it but it did take a bit of getting into.

It's my favourite thing on tv.... I had tears rolling down my face I was laughing so much.... right from the beginning so if you aren't laughing now give up.
My husband used to literally sit watching me watching it, he said my reactions were better entertainment 🤷‍♀️

I think it's hilarious, but then I don't find Stath annoying, I think he's very funny (I find Katia an extremely annoying character though)

I watched it all a while ago so can’t remember specifics. Sure I recall a surreal element. It was very, very clever. And showed me characters and relationships I’d never seen portrayed on TV before.

They're all annoying characters but that's the point of it really.

I loved it! Took me the second time to get into it though. It really does get good!

We are watching series 2 now. I think there's a kind of genius poetry to some of the dialogue and the physical comedy properly makes me laugh, so I love it. Can totally see why it wouldn't be for everyone though.

In one early episode it's very briefly mentioned that he struggled with speaking English and being understood at school. Even though it's not something they dwell on at all, I found that quite poignant and it helped me warm to him.

You need to get past the first couple of episodes I think. I thought it was a bit weird initially but then got completely obsessed with it!

There's so much love between Stath and his family.

It's one of my favourite comedy series' of all time.

The love is the thing I was coming back to remark on.

The sibling relationship is breathtakingly finely portrayed. The other family relationship is maybe more sledgehammer-y - but still worthy of one’s time.

Yes I think it's definitely something you adore or don't get at all. I love it, less the last series but have cried laughing at some of the comedy. I have also worked in a similar place tbh so lots rang a bell. They are actually brother and sister aren't they so that probably helps with the relationship there.

Is series 2 fairly recent ? I have definitely seen series 1 and thought it was great. Not sure if I have seen any more as it was ages ago and my memory is crap.

I think there are three series @AnyFucker, but not sure when they all came out
