Just finished and loved 'Happy Valley.'
Was disappointed in 'Better.'
Also loved Handmaid's tale, Game of thrones and Taboo (just to give an idea of varied taste).

I'm feeling a bit crap and need something to stop me mindlessly scrolling and ending up feeling worse. Can anyone please recommend anything?
Thank you

Last Tango In Halifax with the lovely Sarah Lancashire and Nicola Walker to name two of the great cast.

CoconutJamSpongeAndPinkCustard · 04/03/2023 20:34

Meant to say- I have Netflix, prime and all the regular TV apps (iPlayer, ITV etc)

Shakespeare and Hathaway - iplayer, my favourite comforting series

Mallory Towers , iplayer , kids tv series but worth watching ( I watched without a kid in tow)

Trying - lovely series, on apple I think

Hustle , not new now but really good series

AutisticLegoLover · 04/03/2023 20:39

Scott and Bailey

CrapBucket · 04/03/2023 20:39

I'm similar, but additionally I am shallow and want to see attractive people and places on my TV. I liked Wild Bill despite the setting (lovely Rob Lowe in gloomy Norfolk)

Have now decided to start watching Luther.

You might want to try Harlem on Prime. The second season has just been released, I'm going to do a rewatch of season 1 first.

Labtastic · 04/03/2023 20:48

Last Kingdom! It's amazing

Offredismysister · 04/03/2023 20:48

The Witcher- Henry Cavill in a bath, what’s not to love 😊
The Last Kingdom
Wednesday
Power & all the spins offs
Top Boy
Euphoria
Sex Life 🤣

When I’m next on annual leave I’m gonna rewatch the whole of Malcolm in the Middle.

Calistan · 04/03/2023 20:51

I'm watching succession atm pretty good and the final series is out soon.

CoconutJamSpongeAndPinkCustard · 04/03/2023 20:54

I've gone a bit rogue for this evening and started watching 'the school for good and evil' after seeing it recommended on another thread.
This list is brilliant though and gives me lots to work through.

Thank you all.

Not like any of what you're watching, but I'm enjoying the escapism of Nashville on All4. 5 seasons. Family and relationships drama with country music, which I wasn't a big fan of, but many of the Season 1 songs are great.

DanziseDanzi · 04/03/2023 20:56

The Blacklist on Amazon Prime

Turquoisa80 · 04/03/2023 20:57

33goingon64 · 04/03/2023 21:02

For 80s nostalgia, ace drama and fan acting, I recommend:
Kleo (Netflix)
The Americans (Prime or Netflix?)
Deutschland 83, 86 & 89
GLOW (Netflix)
Sexify, Love & Anarchy, Call my Agent (all Netflix)

We also loved The White Lotus, Succession, Outlander, Stranger Things, Ghosts...

SecretVictoria · 04/03/2023 21:02

Unforgiven (the one from a few years ago with Suranne Jones)

There is a new series of Unforgotten on ITV player!

33goingon64 · 04/03/2023 21:04

Oh, also the Mystery Road series. There's been a few with 'Origin' as the most recent. Fabulous cinematography, casting and acting.

Paturday · 04/03/2023 21:06

I’m currently watching
Bad Sisters - AppleTV 30 day free trial
Yellowjackets - Now TV/Sky
Schitts Creek - Netflix

actually relieved as was in such a slump and stuck on a Motherland and Modern Family rewatch loop!
