Everybody needs classic Neighbours

Couldn't see a thread on this, but to all those who've been missing Neighbours since last Summer, Amazon Freevee have just added the classic episodes. Not all of them, but some Neighbours is better than no Neighbours.

I settled down to watch these this afternoon, but I'm finding the gaps between episodes really jarring and I wish they'd got them all.

Main characters vanishing without explanation and major plot developments having happened (some of which I can remember, but not all) is going to wear pretty thin, I think.

It's a shame they're not showing them all.

I've only watched three so far and nothing major has happened and I can pretty much remember the storylines.

I can imagine it getting annoying/confusing when I get to the late nineties episodes when I stopped watching for a few years.

I started with the 2012 episodes which have all been uploaded - that way you can follow the storylines. Not necessarily the best episodes though but it's been like having an old friend back!

I've been watching old Home and Away which is better as it's consecutive episodes the jumping between episodes on old Neighbours is annoying as hell.

Freevee is always utterly crap here. It takes so long to load, and freezes at the drop of a hat. And the loading process begins again. You'd think they'd sort it out for something as vital as Neighbours.

Has anyone watched Season 1, episode 1? I’ve just started and it’s totally bonkers :D Starts with a nightmare dream sequence, has Daphne as a stripper at Des’s stag do , someone else playing Scott and all sorts of random characters I don’t remember seeing again even though I watched early neighbours every day in Primary school .. it’s brilliantly crazy stuff. Nice to see Jim, Helen and of course good ole Paul.

I wonder why they're running all episodes from 2012 but just 'Best of' ones from before that. I thought initially when I saw the very first episode that they were running them from the start

I'd LOVE to see the old episodes. 🤞🏻 they show them

The cutting off of cliffhanger episodes only for the next one to be weeks later with everything forgotten is really annoying me now; it jumps straight from Helen falling for her daughter's fiance as the wedding is being planned to right before Scott and Charlene's wedding with no proper recap to fill in the gaps.

Henry has suddenly appeared despite being in jail in the previous episode (and the woman with the baby has vanished) and Lucy is a completely different five years older person. I wish they'd have some kind of infill screen at the start of the episodes with a summary of what happened since the last one as it's going to be unwatchable.

Those ones are being shown as 'Classic' episodes as in memorable as opposed to old like Corrie & EE so there's never going to be tied in.

Why they can't just re run it from the start I don't know - rather than 2012.

I'm now finding I'm spending more time googling old characters and what happened to them when they suddenly disappear, rather than watching.

I didn't realise that the 2012 episodes were all being shown. I'll have to give them a go. And Home & Away, I remember switching channels to watch it straight after Neighbours.
