I've just finished watching this and although I wanted to know the plot ie is she dead, was she murdered, just did not feel engaged by it.
Just about everybody was not very pleasant, and Sam Neill being sauve isn't exactly unusual.
How many sercrets can each family have. I had thought this is like so many Australian series, not knowing it was a remake, and could have done with being only 5 or 6 episodes.
I think you could have made it just as interesting to have juries struggling with a complex case, and just going home to ordinary life. That contrast in itself quite a conflit.
I think that was what made me think this is so australian! All these families with grudges and secrets, and settling scores.
I didn't know there was an original version in Belgian. Maybe I should have watched that. This just felt it was trying too hard to be twisty, and so blatantly trying for a second series with the final episode.
And all those looooooooooooong ad breaks on ITVx.
