He says its because he wouldn't move to Scotland because he has children who he doesn't want to be separated from.

Laura did want me to move but I have my responsibilities here. I have four kids and all the things that go along with that so it’s very difficult, if not impossible, to uproot at this time.

I feel a bit sorry for Gary. He obviously can’t move and leave his kids especially as it’s the other end of the country. It doesn’t sound like Laura was keen to move.

I do like Gary from what I’ve seen / read of him. He seems like a very genuine guy and even now he’s saying he still loves her and hopes they can be good parents together.

It's a strange one as what did they expect? My husbands worked in Scotland for 5 years. It's not ideal.

I saw the start of their romance on Celebs go Dating & was reading somewhere that she basically was just desperate for a baby. Not sure how bothered she was/ is about Gary. Saying that he knows how it all works so could have prevented a pregnancy but he was saying on CgD that he can’t get enough of having kids! Maybe he thought she would move to be near him. All sounds a bit messy but each to their own I suppose.

She could but I think the point is that she doesn’t want to because maybe she isn’t all that fussed about Gary & wants her family around to support. I did think that Gary came over as fairly decent on CgD but I’ve also heard he is a bit of a party boy so who knows.

I think she just wanted a baby and she obviously has the means and support to be able to do it on her own, so fair enough. Apparently her and Dane Bowers did IVF when they were together but it didn’t work.

I hope not because that's just appalling. Having a baby involves three people. Her self-sufficiency isn't going to make up for both the child or the father being unable to: (a) have a chance to live and grow together; or (b) at least be a regular presence in each others lives.
Is it really fair enough for people to just think about their own wants rather than their children's needs?

Gary was in Hollyoaks in the 90s, years before he was in The Bill! Those of us who are even older enough know this!

This is really sad for the baby, and for GL. Obviously he can't just move away from his 4 children. I think it's selfish to get involved with a man who has children, then move to the other end of the country with the new baby, effectively denying him a relationship with the child.
