Is anyone watching this? Female police chief in the pocket of a drug's baron.

No, but I'm planning to. Is it good?

PandoraRocks · 13/02/2023 21:54

Not bad. Will give it a go again next week.

Looks like all 5 episodes are on iPlayer. I'll give it a go once I've finished Three Pines (on Amazon).

SingingSands · 14/02/2023 19:11

I've only just started season 2 of Happy Valley, but will watch this afterwards as a lot of it was filmed locally. I do love a "bent coppers" drama!

bumpytrumpy · 16/02/2023 23:31

I've watched all 5 now. Anyone else?

Lots of filming spots I recognised:

The "hospital" cafe & parking lot is the Richmond building at Bradford Uni.

Lots around Leeds uni campus and inner ring road. City square restaurant.

Posh houses in north Leeds / view of arthington viaduct.

Boulshired · 16/02/2023 23:40

I’ve watched all 5, no spoilers but felt slightly annoyed with it all by the end

PinkFrogss · 16/02/2023 23:44

Watched all 5, felt like a whole lot of nothing tbh

redrobin75 · 17/02/2023 11:35

Agree, I've watched all 5 and felt nothing at the end.

pinotnow · 17/02/2023 12:43

I really enjoyed this, especially Andrew Buchan and Anton Lesser's characters/performances. I liked how everyone's morality was called into question, including the husband, and I also liked the ending. The only thing that jarred was her son, who seemed more like someone long-accustomed to a disability rather than a teen just adjusting to one.

Lottapianos · 17/02/2023 12:46

Absolutely rubbish title, but I'm 2 episodes in and the show is good so far

Love Leila Farzad, she was brilliant in I Hate Suzie with Billie Piper

Beachbabe1 · 17/02/2023 12:54

The end was terrible!! In what world would that actually happen!? None IMO!

Lottapianos · 17/02/2023 16:28

Agree, the ending was totally daft. A real shame coz I enjoyed the series overall

bloodymary100 · 17/02/2023 18:28

Watched them all. Waste of time. What a shit ending

Rosecoffeecup · 17/02/2023 18:29

Also thought the ending was rubbish. Shame, as I was really looking forward to this.

Peachy2005 · 17/02/2023 23:34

Only watched 2 eps, not finding it very gripping…might not bother now as people here saying the ending is crap. Thanks for saving me the bother 👍

TBH you could probably watch the last 20 minutes of the final episode and at least they’d be closure

Peachy2005 · 17/02/2023 23:45

@Boulshired ooh good idea. I’m definitely going to do that, thx

Wallabyone · 18/02/2023 01:55

I've watched four out of five so far. The writing and acting are both pretty bad, so many bits are implausible and it feels like it belongs on channel 5, not the BBC. There's also something that feels a bit dated about it, and the relationships don't feel authentic either. I've got this far, I might as well watch the last one!x

ditherydotty · 18/02/2023 02:01

Just finished the last episode - so disappointed, crap ending to what I thought was a good series.

JMSA · 18/02/2023 05:05

I really enjoyed this!

bumpytrumpy · 18/02/2023 08:35

Just come back to this thread

Yes I agree they were all annoying. Ending was weird and unbelievable. Retirement would have been more appropriate.

ouch321 · 18/02/2023 15:20

Well I really enjoyed it.

I wish BBC did more dramas and less celebrity and reality show stuff.

Peachy2005 · 19/02/2023 00:33

I liked the ending, thought it was amusing (if somewhat unconvincing)…but I did skip episode 3 and 4 on the recommendation of @Boulshired so I might have been fed ip if I’d slogged through it all.

Boulshired · 19/02/2023 10:16

The problem for me is if I have invested my time that I’ve put my phone down so I can keep track of the twists and turns then I expect plausible endings. I love a shock endings that no one saw coming but I have to understand afterwards how it got there. Even if I’m enjoying a series especially crime/thriller a bad ending taints everything.
