Please settle a row with colleagues. We are having a debate/throwing things at each other re the use of this saying...some say it doesn't/ never has been in use.

Anyone heard of it....a Corrie/northern type thing??

Some of us remeber it years ago, and others deny it's existence.....things got a little ahem, tense. We were very distracted today..

I know the phrase, it's northern in origin and a bit outdated - usually carrying connotations of a woman who looks 'respectable' but likes sex.

Am surprised at comments-I thought this was a well known phrase throughout northern England.

well, the main protagonists are mancunian women who sneered a little when I said this phrase, in jest, about someone...some said "yep"..other's got all exclusive and sneered a little more...

Has to be said with a sneer & hitch of ample bosom under pinny though!
