It was as I suspected, exactly what I predicted.

What do you think??

Did you miss the HUUUUUGE thread of what everyone thinks? 🤣
Have a look - it’s a great thread 👍🏻

I thought Ryan might kill Tommy or one of them would have been killed

was happy Catherine got peace and can move on

really thought the pharmacist got away with it- so that was a good twist at the end

not for the life of me could I understand Catherine going into the house knowing he was in there

I loved it overall and thought the ends tied up nicely. I think it could have done with perhaps another 20 minutes or so.

I agree with the PP about Catherine entering the house when it was clear someone had broken in. It didn't ring true for me.

I don't really buy TLR's redemption either. One minute he's a violent psychopath slitting people's throats, the next he's an emotional mess and full of forgiveness.

I liked the way the Faisal storyline played out at the end, but I couldn't figure out how Darius was caught.

I'm glad things worked out for Catherine at the end; I don't think she had another series in her though and I'm glad the story wasn't dragged out further to become a parody of itself.

Catherine going into her house was exactly what she’d do! How many times had we seen her being told to do something and she’d do the opposite? Plus she was a police officer with a police officer’s instincts; no way was she going to ignore that broken window and let someone else deal with it - especially after what Tommy did to Kirsten in S.1.

I’m disappointed in the ending, I think it should have been spread over two episodes, so we could see Faisal getting caught.

Although the acting was fantastic, I felt really sorry for Tommy in the end, he could see that he’d never had a real family.

I’m disappointed in the ending, I think it should have been spread over two episodes, so we could see Faisal getting caught.

I didn’t mind that for several reasons:. 1) it bookended this series, the way she reeled off the info about the body in the lake at the start of ep 1; 2) it showed she’s a great police officer to the very end; 3) the entire series, right down to the name, was centred on the police force’s fight against illegal drugs, and ended the same way; and 4) it showed that competent policing will continue even after Catherine has gone. Seeing an officer I’m not invested in knocking on Faisal’s door wouldn’t have added anything to that for me, it would have been too much of a TV cliché.

Come and join the long-running thread (new one just started, number 7!)

I liked that Ryan made Catherine realise that Claire had been there all the time.

It was great that Ryan felt able to disclose info about his father to the police.

Not forgetting how happy Ryan had been to be told he looked like a suitable police recruited. He nearly skipped up the stairs. So despite Catherine being so hard on him most of the time, she obviously hadn't alienated him.

I can see that Catherine would go into the house without waiting for backup but thought the earlier scence of her going back to the house was not realistic. It was just a plot device to have the photo albums out.

Not sure about Tommy setting himself alight, but then he had shown form on this.

They didn't explain why the teacher was not charged with murdering his wife, but suddenly talked about finding exploitative photos of students on his phone. Which wouldn't be evidence that he hadn't also killed his with. Just that he was an all round manipulator and exploiter.

And I think as said up thread, it is a shame that they didn't make it 90 minutes to show how the loose ends were tied up around Faisal. Even if they proved he had supplied drugs and lived near the murder crime scene how would they link him to that.

They got Darius because Tommy kept saying to Catherine remember to tell them is was Darius who killed the man tommy had confessed to.

But agree all the storyline were about Catherine being really good at her job. I was more worried she would have a breakdown after retiring as she wouldn't have anything to keep her occupied.
