Just in case there is any other old fogey out there who likes Olivia Manning's The Balkan Trilogy & The Levant Trilogy and enjoyed the star-studded television adaptation in 1987 (young Emma Thompson and Kenneth Branagh and also Ronald Pickup, Alan Bennett etc) - it is coming back to BBC FOUR tonight at 10 pm

Thanks for the reminder. I loved it back in the day when it was the BBC's most expensive drama in an era changed by The Jewel in the Crown.
